Zappe is a modern day Danny Wuerffel... Zero arm strength but good touch...

I love how the OP states that Burrows record is in jeopardy (which it was because it has now been broken) and people act like people are saying that Zappe is better than Burrow. Burrows record has been broken. That’s a fact. No one is saying he is better than Burrow.

687 attempts to 527. He needed 160 more passes to net 2 more TDs.

While it's an impressive stat, it's not near as impressive as Burrow's is.

A guy like Justin Field had 41 TD passes in only 354 passes. That's as impressive as what Burrow did, and Tua was actually slightly better on a TD per pass average.

He's also not playing 2/3rds of the season by sitting out the second half against nearly half his opponents.

Burrow didn’t either. He was kept in games long after they were decided to pad stats. He threw 38 times against Utah State for crying out loud. He threw 32 times against A&M in a 50-7 game. 27% of his touchdowns came against Utah St., Vandy and Georgia State. Not exactly stalwarts of defensive talent you are suggesting.

You Burrow fanboys are weird. Against professional talent he is a 2/1 TD/INT ratio QB. When talent is superior he is a Heisman winner that had a tremendous year.

Agree. All were remarkable feats.

BDJ did it in the SEC against top caliber defenses.

The kid from Western Kentucky certainly deserves deserves acknowledgment for what he did, but the entire sports world knows it doesn’t hold a candle to what Joe did and to whom he did it against.

In the post-season, against 3 of the top 4 highest ranked teams LSU played (all in the final top 7 and two teams having the #1 ranked D at the time), Burrow threw for 16 TDs and over 1300 yards (with 0 picks). He also ran for another 2 TDs. And he sat out almost the entire 4th quarter in the playoff game against OU. So he averaged over 430 yards and 6 TDs against 3 of the top 4 teams he played. It didn't really matter who the opponent was with Burrow. He was that great in 2019.

He has thrown a lot of picks this year in the pros, but he also has one of the worst O-lines around and I think he is still the 2nd highest graded QB in the league right now in his 2nd year after having major surgery last year. He has quickly turned what was a bad Cincinnati team into a competitive one.

Fanboys? I posted stats. It seems obvious to me which is more impressive. Zappe only had 160 more pass attempts.

As a point of reference, Burrow's 4 highest pass attempt games total to 171 pass attempts, his 6 lowest total to 167 pass attempts

Am I biased. Probably, I am an LSU fan after all. Is it an achievement for Zappe, without a doubt.

Stats on passing.

Zappe
Passing - 476/687 - 69.29% - 5856 yds - 62 TDs - 11 INTs

Burrow
Passing - 402/527 - 76.3% - 5671 yds - 60 TDs - 6 INTs

The same amount of TDs came against Georgia, Oklahoma and Clemson.

He is gonna pass up his passing yard record as well.

Burrow didn't own the passing yards record. B.J. Symons of Texas Tech did. But, yes, he broke that record also.

No Disrespect but, it's Western Kentucky, there schedule and level of play...

Bailey Zappe is a solid player but let him play LSU Schedule of 2019. Noway he comes close to those numbers.

Those Records need to be keep separate, in each level

1. Power 5

2. All the Rest

That makes a lot more sense
