re: Burrow completion % is irrelevant

We want to complete 60% or better, but I will say this, I can't think of many times at all this season where I could say he missed a wide open guy or anything. He had a few that he could have thrown better yesterday, but most of the time our guys were covered like glue. Auburn has a good D. Now, once our talented WRs learn how to get better separation, then I think you'll see his completion percentage go up if we keep calling the type of plays we called yesterday.

Not irrelevant. But, so far, inconsequential.
Yes, QBs earn their stripes on 3rd down. Period.
3rd down conversions lead to sustained drives which leads to scoring which leads to wins.
Why it isn't irrelevant is because a higher completion % implies easier 3rd downs and in fewer cases not even getting into 3rd down situations. Which if you have easier (shorter) 3rd downs then you do the above more often- score points.

How does uncalled PI factor into the stats? Just another incomplete? Yeah then frick the stats.

If you want to talk about grammar, if you are talking about passes made by Burrow, then use an apostrophe when saying Burrow's passes.

And if you take away some silly drops against Miami...

In the end, 3-0 is his most important stat.

I might have to rewatch game,I'm not getting all talk of his inaccuracy. His short and intermediate passes were very accurate. His % was hurt by all the deep route play calling. The % on 20+ yd routes will always be low. There were too many of those.
But I remember a lot of his short and intermediate passes being spot on

I know, but it was more than obvious I was talking about something relating to him and not calling him "Burrows." Comprehension on some I guess?

Danny Etling was a 60% passer last year and that got you a 9-4 record. OP is correct.
Burrow has gone to a completely different style of play than he's been used to with Urban Meyer or even in High School This might be the first time hes not in some spread offense and he will keep getting better and better.
He already has clutch factor down. He has leadership and great decision making with an accurate arm.
As he learns your offense the % will continue to go up.
Hes the best you've had in awhile. Just wait!

With the lack for separation the WRs are getting, who can really say what his accuracy is?

He puts LSU in position to move down the field. He sees a weakness he will try to capitalize. Its refreshing.
Even the RPO. Gives LSU more balance and keeps defenses in check at times. I cannot believe I actually said that because that's been a constant struggle for LSU. Sure he needs to work more with the receivers but usually QBs like Burrow will progress as time moves alone. Similar to QBS we had in the program in years past. He needs to work on his touch a little. He threw darts yesterday a few times where he needed to throw a fade route to the corner of the endzone. Again that can be worked out.
There have been many QBS similar to Burrow that won nattys.

Burrow will continue to improve & gain confidence. That being said Brennan still needs some work and to be ready should anything drastic happen...
