And the pot thickens....I wonder if they would make them forfeit the game or something, would they ever do a rematch? Has that ever happened before? I've got questions, so give me some answers! What would be the punishment?

I didn't believe a conspiracy, and still don't, but this is starting to smell. The link disappearing reeks of a coverup, but if everything is on the up and up, there's no need for a cover up.
At a minimum, the SEC should own up to responsibility for allowing the guy anywhere near the booth for a game involving the University of Alabama.
FWIW, Burleson's site disappearing is almost more alarming than him being in or near the replay booth to begin with. I can handle officiating errors, but I simply cannot accept the SEC's allowance of human biases to influence games and the SEC's silence on a very suspicious set of circumstances.

Some SEC officials have attended SEC schools. The ref that knocked down Stephen Garcia during the South Carolina game last year (Wilbur Hackett) played for Kentucky. And that's just one off the top of my head. I'm sure there are many more. I just don't understand how they can let this happen.
And great job guys on digging this up. Keep up the good work! We'll get to the bottom of this soon.

In all honesty, unfortunately I really don't think anything will ever come of it in terms of an SEC response or suspended official for this particular game. But, at the least, it will open up people's eyes to the fact that everything is not as "legitimate" as the SEC would like you to believe. I believe this might waken a "sleeping giant" in terms of public opinion and the general public buying the propaganda that the league continues to pump out.
There are flaws in the system, and most of those flaws involve human bias, and the SEC must find a way to eliminate those human biases, or the validity of the conference itself will start to suffer.

So what's next? Another billboard fundraiser, but for Birmingham this time?
That's an excellent idea!

You can bet Silve and his crew are circling the wagons and battening down the hatches over this. The pulled web site is evidence of this. I doubt publicly they will ever say or admit to anything. You can bet behind the scenes things are changing even now. They know they got caught at the very least being lackadaisical with oversight.
On the bright side they cant help Bama this week and may even have to give bama a really rough time with officiating at MSU.

I am calling for a full NCAA investigation.
Let the truth be told - if there is no wrong doing, no one should be offended. - if there conclusive evidence of corruption, then lets get if fixed

You just have to think the NCAA isnt pleased at all by all this bad PR.

What's getting lost in this one game BS is that this guy was an on the field ref for an unstated period of time. If he's thought to have influenced this one call from the replay booth, how many times did he actually make a call on the field that influenced a game with Bama?? Think back over the yrs over all the questionable calls & put this guy on the field.

I doubt that would even happen. It would more than likely be the SEC saying "Opps, our bad, we promise not to do it again." Than fine everybody that says anything else about it.

2- The specific gentleman in the booth you inquired about served as the “communicator” in the Alabama-LSU game
and the replay offical obiviously got the message....

Some AU poster addressed this issue already. Dick has put it to AU numerous times over the years. It would be cool to look back over his career.

I'm really starting to believe the SEC scr*w*d up by letting this guy anywhere near the booth, and he scr*w*d them by influencing calls for BAMA. I believe it's an issue of inexcusable imcompetence on the part of the SEC, and this guy taking advantage of the situation. Anyhow, that's my opinion.
You don't believe in a cover up but go on to say this?

I searched yesturday looking at his speaking engagements and found some interesting quotes from some of his talks. One topic was that the SEC has officials meet with the FBI at times to instruct on how to stay away from gambling. Burleson commented that northern alabama is second only to Vegas in betting on college football.
The BS about him not being the guy make the call in the booth is funny. His job description says that he is involved in grading the officials for the conference. I don't know about yall, but if one of my bosses is looking over my shoulder it may influence me.
And JP, there is another picture out there of a Bear autographed picture with a note from the Bear to "dick." I think it is on the cover or back cover of his book.
