More ugly comments were made about our players than there were about Avery actually.
They just kept trying to get him to acknowledge the fans in some way ... tip of the hat, the finger, something. They tried to "compliment" him on his hit/run ... they kept screaming about "other left fielders" would play along ... kept talking about missed catches (don't remember any big ones off hand) ... when the 3 run homer was hit the fans were like "Avery you missed it ... it was yours".
I guess they weren't UGLY to him ... like I said they were uglier to our own players .. just trying to get anything out of Avery. They did call him unsociable!

I must have been by you in left field because there was a 50-ish woman I heard say that - and she also was yelling that Jared Mitchell swings like a girl. She never said or yelled anything about UF - and she was dressed in purple and gold.

Sad to say I didn't notice what she was wearing ... I tried VERY hard to not turn around and stare at her.
At one point she said something about this is NOT BALLET I think when Mitchell was at bat. Bitch.

I think I could have slapped her ... she looked like she had something stuck up her arse. I swear ... pursed lips, bad attitude ... what the hell did she want???
Although my 16 year old did think it would be funny to yell GIANT PANSY (from Madagascar!) at Avery ... I told him to keep his mouth shut.

Couldn't describe her any better. She was with a preppy looking dude who was trying to heckle Avery - I didn't hear too much of it because I was listening to the radio broadcast - what I heard wasn't very funny or creative.
I won't be there tonight - if you're going you should print out this thread and hand it to her. Maybe she'll shut up tonight.

No we're not going .. we're from south of Lafayette and can't make it back today or tomorrow ... last night was the 1 and only game for us this year. It's a crying shame.
I was wishing the whole time that I'd brouht my headset ... I moved to the 3rd base bleachers at about the 7th so that I could keep an eye on my dtr in the play area AND watch the game. Glad to get away from that lady.

Its a baseball game. People are going to make comments and they may even make some that offend your sensibilities. Get over it. Unless they're making physical contact with you or using profanities in front of a child it must be tolerated. To think you can attend a sporting event and expect everyone there to conform to your code of acceptance is asking a bit much.

I can understand if an opposing team's fan does that to our players, and it wouldn't bother me a single bit. But it is a different story if you are dressed in Purple and Gold, and does these classless things to your own team. It is not fair to spoil other LSU fans' experience, IMO.

I respectfully disagree. Are we now in the business of censoring our fans? Of censoring opinions? These two women have every right in the world to speak their minds. So what if others don't agree. There's enough true obnoxious behavior occurring at these events to be concerned with two women voicing their opinion.
