When I judge a DB coach, I look to see if they can play man to man. We couldn’t come close. Had to resort to soft zone and got our shite pushed in.

Raymond has developed numerous corners who can line up 1 on 1. Florida sucked, I get it. We have been saying Florida would suck. I thought it was a horrible idea to go there. But you can’t tell me Raymond can’t coach whenever he has proven to you that he puts guys on islands with great technique.

He will go down as the second best DB coach to ever coach at LSU.

Let’s be honest, there has been nothing good the past 4 years on defense. It has all been horrific

Nope 2nd best is Bill Bush because he talked O into going after Joe Burrow lol. Nothing to do with coaching, but one of the goats on our payroll

Cory Raymond did not start DBU, that was Ron Cooper

No it wasn't. There is an amazing concentration of DB and WR talent in Louisiana. Plus we attract some great oos kids. That's not due to some coach; it is a feature of Louisiana.

I’d love to hear other people’s options as DB coach.
somehow convince Jimmy Lake to leave the Rams and be the DC/DB coach if house is eventually let go. That resume of his is pretty damn impressive at Washington & Boise.

Wrong, who recruited and developed them that was Ron Cooper just because they’re sitting in Louisiana does not guarantee they will go to LSU as we have seen the last few years.

You are very short sighted if you think this. Name the elite DBs that LSU was flush with before RC…

Only you fake arse LSU fans don’t want Raymond back, anybody that actually knows something about DBU and LSU wants BK to bring him back.

Ricks is in the NFL, so I guess two years under Raymond was good for him

It’s hard to be coached for a second season when you fricking quit on your team and coach halfway through to play for their rival.

Absolutely bring him home. He’s much better than the CB coach we currently have. Furthermore, his recruiting is off the charts. I can’t remember having CB depth issues while he was at LSU.

You’re saying he sucks based off the last two years under Coach O, which we can all agree, O nuked the program. You’re ignoring 7 years of solid DB play and multiple early round draft picks. Florida ran him off because they found out he’s been in contact and coming back to LSU. It’s too obvious McGlothern has had zero incidents at Arkansas so I don’t see how you can call out his character lmao. Also has 7 career picks. Running him off when you are desperate for corners is STUPID

I hope he pays you for every shill post. You’d have paid for every Christmas gift by now.

Raymond’s last two secondaries here were not good. The numbers and rankings don’t lie. The 2019 secondary was mediocre for over half the season with far too much talent to struggle as much as they did. His two seasons as UF were even worse. They didn’t improve at all this season.

Which direction is the trend going here? Two different head coaches and four different DCs, but all with mediocre to poor secondary play. There is ONE common thread- Raymond. Coaches het older and sometimes they slow down and get complacent. The game passes people by. It happens. It looks very much like it’s happening to him.

As for McGlothern, if he had gotten his slacking arse to some fricking meetings, he’d probably still be here. He’s a fricking adult being paid (even without NIL, student athletes still make some money and get tons of freebies) to handle his fricking business. He didn’t. frick him and frick your excuses.

Florida sucks in general. How tf you gonna blame the DB coach when LSU had a worse defensive coordinator than Matt House? Pelini was fricking awful

Excuses, excuses, and more fricking excuses.

If I had to choose between Steeples and Raymond I’d go with Raymond. That being said, if that job comes open I’d like to know who applies. Maybe someone better than both would come in

if he wants to come back, you bring his arse back. He knows the program, he coached and recruited a lot of great players and great defenses.

huge upgrade.

Do you really think if he still had it and was that great he would be looking for a job right now?

Saying Raymond developed Stingley or Flott 0r Delpit into NFL players is like saying Joe Brady developed Joe Burrow into Heisman winner and Top pick in draft...kids today come to college with alot of camps and coaching under there belts they can either play or not....from day 1!

This is by far the dumbest take I’ve read on this matter. At least these other guys have good points.

What you’re saying is just plain stupid.

I’m not 100% against it but I’d rather Ron Cooper.
