It's possible that they and the situation get better, but first we have to see signs that someone is coaching them up, that has been the biggest overall concern.

the proof will be in the pudding, I suppose. The bright outlook portends such pudding :-)

just ask tim quarterman
I didn't know goodoletim was even playing FB, but by all means suit him up. Tim and BH, along with Braxton miller can share clipboards down by the water cooler in case there aren't enough to go around.

I don't understand how only LSU has problems with development of QB's. Other schools okay freshmen and sophomores and they come right along. Some schools even have two maybe three QB's that can play the position now without much problem. Why is LSU the only school who recruits QB's that are not ready.BS Is our system so complicated that it turns a 4 or 5 star into a 1star QB. If Ohio State can start a QB that has only started 3 games and win it all and Notre Dame can start a guy that is his first game to start since junior high and beat a favored LSU then don't feed me the BS about Harris not being ready. Also, you might want to recruit a fricking QB that can play right now. While we wait for someone to "develope" all the skilled guys at other positions are wasting their time. Then they turn pro when we get a good QB
This is exactly what I don't understand either! Tired of hearing about our 'young' QB's, but everywhere else, freshmen are playing and doing a much better job than LSU. Can't Les & Cam see this!?? As someone said yesterday, Urban Meyer produces great college QB's, not NFL QB's! Why can't we follow this lead??

the Miss St and Bama game hinged on one play. 4th and 1 and stopped cold. and in the case of Bama, an official made up a lie, and called the ball in the end zone when it wasn't and the man with the view called it correctly.
so.. 10-2 was within grasp even with the QBs on hand.
Those plays go LSU's way next year and they can be undefeated or 11-1.
LSU will have Valentine in the middle.
Harris may even relax, step up and start and play well.

why you start a thread like this and forget the two QB's we have committed, Franks and McMillon. Besides, doesn't matter who we sign if we don't change the scheme. Any QB would look like shite in our system. The most important point you left out is that Miles/Cam seem to have finally seen that you just can't line up and try to overpower teams with no attempts at deception or game planning. No matter how good you think you are, it takes some degree of thinking and finesse.

We are counting on this. All of us are.

Mettenberger looked pretty good. He started a game in the NFL already.
Lee looked pretty good too, actually. He made the ALL SEC senior team as QB.

If you have been happy with the QB play since 2008 then I don't know what to tell you.
We can recruit and develop as many QB's as it takes to put a good product on the field--yet with the exception of Mett (which was a good job of getting him) we have done so poorly.
Bottom line is QB play is holding LSU back. We need to improve significantly at that position--Les knows it--question is can he fix it.

There's a difference between being happy and being honest.
