I don’t think Hughes finishes his college career at LSU.

This is the kind of stupidity that graces the rant.

Hughes Was a lockdown shortstop as a freshman fill-in. He needs to grow in leadership and hitting, and both will come.

This is completely false.

See, the problem with stats nowadays, they're readily available on the World Wide Web.

We went through this.

Hal hit 221
Kramer hit 200

Hal had 8 extra base hits in 182 ABs
Kramer had 7 XBH in 100 ABs

Hal had a sub 300 OBP
Kramer’s was 330

But suuuuurrreeee... “so much better”

.200 or .221 still doesn’t get it done.

LSU has always had power at SS and 2nd. Without Smith we are fricked.

Well Kramer batted 200 his freshman year and 232 his sophmore year, playing mostly 2nd base. Maybe Hal isn’t MUCH farther along, but I’d say experience at this point weighs pretty heavy in his favor.

I've said it more than once, and get blasted everytime. Hal Hughes, as an out of state guy, should not get a scholarship to play at LSU. He hit .360 in high school. That isn't what i expect someone to do in shitty Oklahoma high school baseball if they are going to play at LSU.
Nola was a 4 time all state selection and hit .447
Kramer hit over .450 over 3 years in high school in Waco, and was also the starting qb and pg.
Stevenson hit .546 at st Thomas Moore.

Given how scholarships are scarce in baseball and we rely on tops, this shows evwn more how stupid it was to recruit Hal Hughes. And I mean all of that in the nicest way b/c he's a great kid. He just doesn't deserve or belong at LSU.

Oh I’m sorry, i forgot that I should shite on a current player who did indeed out perform another one of our players who also I might add was constantly shite on by this board because of his underperforming. #fullcircle

Who knows how it plays out, but Hughes was a better fielder and hitter than Robertson in his freshman campaign.

shite on a current player? What the frick, man? It’s not my fault you exaggerated the difference between 2 freshmen. But don’t put words in my mouth. I haven’t made one single negative comment about Hal. frick you.

Those stats show Kramer being the better player. He had damn near 100 less at bats. The point is that LSU had much better SS's in past years who were much better than Hughes. What other SEC teams does Hughes start for?

Kramer had 122 plate appearances. Hal had 209. If it was 130 to 30, people would have a point but those aren’t small sample sizes for either.

What’s your deal? I’m defending our much maligned shortstop by comparing him to one of our better ones in years. He (both of them actually) gets shite on constantly on here...

I’ll concede that he isn’t as head and shoulders above Kramer as I originally said. Got me there..
