The talent level since kelly has not been up to where we were used to in the Saban,MIles and ed O era's.
this is 100% correct and IMHO not even debatable, particularly on defense. The reasons for that are many and varied and some are on Kelly and some are not but it's reality.
I also think this overall roster is better than any we've put on the field since 2019 and indisputably better than any Kelly has fielded since he's been here.
Now dealing with what a lot of talented transfers and getting the talent and egos going all in the same direction may be a challenge - see Ole Miss last year.....but the talent is there to be a playoff team, of that there is no question.

Underwood would sit behind Nuss.
Instead, NIL $ invested in #1 portal class, producing many 1st and 2nd team players!
We have a Championship caliber roster now!

Head Coaching is not first class. But I agree with the rest of your post

Two functional retards won titles at LSU. I like our chances with BK.

You can’t be serious. Les Miles would still be coaching if he understood modern offense

Les would have had LSU in a 12 team playoff nearly every year. BK hasn’t sniffed the playoffs.

I like Kelly; he had a huge blind spot when it came to his 1st staff. Set them back at least 2 years.
You’re 100% right and it’s frustrating when people act like a “you live and learn” attitude is okay here.
We paid the guy 100MM. It shouldn’t take multiple years to realize the staff you need around you to compete here.
It’s kind of annoying how Kelly just glosses over that stuff in interviews when in reality it was a big frick up.

Les Miles would still be coaching

They still have to win the season opener.

Austin Thomas
Blake baker
Corey Raymond
Greg McMahon
it actually speaks well of his humility and willingness to admit error for the greater good over his ego. lot of folks at that level don’t have that capability.
imagine the first call to Raymond or Thomas…”I fricked up; willing to sit down with me?” any man who comes at me like that will have my attention.
better to eat crow when it’s fresh and tender rather let false pride and ego get in the way until it’s old and tough.
