The announcers tonight were talking like it’s a given Nuss is coming back next year.

Did anyone else notice that?

Would he be projected to go in first 3 rounds? Haven’t looked into it. Impressed with his ability as a pass catcher and route runner, seems to always be open and comes up huge in big moments. The pedigree has to count for something too.

Where is Nuss rated? I have read many mocks has him early 3rd round.

Kiper had a top 5 QB ranking heading into this weekend and he was not in it.

He comes back next year, he can make a big jump and potential 1st round.
Not this year.

your friendly observation is fubar

Go get Kozial from Ball State if Taylor leaves.

Sounds about right, would need to be more physical and stronger blocker coupled with his pass catching/route running to warrant going in first 2 rounds I suppose. Hope he comes back and works on that.

Does it matter? Those people have an elementary level of knowledge and insight when it comes to this program. Basically said Burrow was bad his first season compared to Nuss. Not understanding the differences in offensive scheme then versus now.

Pimpton starting to emerge helps ease that blow if he moves on. He looks ready to assume that role.

I’m not worried about Pimpton as a receiver but he did not hold up at the point of attack. They need someone who can put his hand down or play in that H back role

I think the qb room loses 1. If nuss returns, any of the other 3 could walk. Would rather keep Collins than swann. Don’t know anything on Hurley but he may be ready to fight for backup time next year, wherever.

Don’t see perkins returning but I’m all for it. Keys will only improve with Ross Moses and singleton fighting for time.

I’m seeing people say jackson will leave. I hope not. Same thing with Sampson.

Swinson, Saivion Jones, and Zy are out of eligibility. Maybe Nuss, Anderson, and/or Perkins?

Zy could probably come back if he wanted to. His first year was 2020 and he barely recorded any stats that season. He could probably get that back as a COVID year if he chose to.

But as good as he’s been, I’m sure his draft stock has risen.

Nuss
E Jones
CJ Daniels

Doubt anyone else that’s a real risk of going top couple of rounds, unless Perkins shocks people but he’s such a tweener idk what he helps with.

Keeping everyone is important, even guys at the bottom of the roster. That is how you rebuild this thing

That said, the portal will obviously be a strong consideration for some guys.

That year doesn’t count anyway. He would have to get some kind of waiver for 2023 when he went down with injury but that’s probably unlikely with as many games as he played.

He’s been carrying around a play sheet the last two weeks. It’s been pretty easy to see on TV. That wasn’t something we saw earlier in the season. TV commentators have mentioned it as well.

here's no way I see Nuss coming back to LSU on an entirely new OL next year even if they went in the portal and snagged a few top guys.

Where do you see an ENTIRE new OL, the last 5 games, the Center and LG are a a RS FR and True FR. If Emory Jones comes back, and signs are that he is, that is 3 Starters.

That’s going to be a numbers issue. Unless we lose multiple flips in the next few days, we will have to process several guys to bring in anyone from the portal. And we will need a few to add experience to a few positions.

You can thank the SEC for being lazy and sticking with the 85 man roster next year for that.

If Adams was healthy, I don’t think Mubenga would be out there. He’s only able to play a few snaps per game after his surgery, but Adams has some game experience and is versatile. He was the first guy off the bench to sub at Guard or Tackle, Weston Davis will hopefully be ready. But they need to go out and bring in a couple of experienced IOL to bolster the rotation and add competition.

As for Chester, I don’t think he will ever be a good SEC Center. He’s already taller than ideal and he isn’t fast enough off the snap (even though he has been ok at snapping the ball). If he can get stronger, maybe he would be better shifted to Guard. Then you have Echols and whoever we bring in from portal battle for Center.
