But they allowed Frank to take over the team.

They're playing semantics with words. Separation with the head football coach probably means fired to 99.9% of all people with half a brain, including judges.

He cannot be fired officially without the consent and approval of the BOS. Only they can terminate his contract.

With that said, unless they are not paying him his salary in its normal increments, he really does not have a leg to stand on.

LSU has yet to formally make any claim that they play to fire for cause (random internet comments or even suggestions by the AD do not count) and to our understanding, they are still paying him his due contract obligations.

Kelly is fighting for more of the money with the settlement. LSU is entitled to spread the money across the remising 6 years in equal payments and has the right to an offset of the buyout should he be hired. Kelly has to make good faith attempts to be hired in a similar level position and for a market salary. If he wants to just retire or not have the lump sum, then he has to come to an agreement with LSU.

In the end, it is a mess, but Kelly is trying to force a higher settlement and removal of any contractual obligations. LSU does not have to do either. They can wait and force him to continue to look for work legitimately as long as they make th appropriate monthly payments.

absolutely wrong....Kelly has all the leverage. He wants the entire buyout because its in the contract. He might not even want to work again.

You are wrong. He is not entirely to the entire buyout in a single lump sum. For the entire buyout, it is clearly spelled out in the language of the contract to be paid in equal monthly payments over the remainder of the contract terms. LSU has yet to not pay him that.

He is trying to stop any chance they fire him for cause, which they have not formally even tried to do yet. They claimed settlement negotiations were on going.

Idk man. This feels like something that you need sauces for.

I’m not saying you’re wrong, but this is the first I’ve heard of this. Are you talking about Sara? I’m not saying I completely don’t believe it because I’ve known her since we were in elementary school, and she’s wild. However… With all this BK/cause drama I’m curious why this is the first time in 17 days we’ve even heard something like this! Especially if it was DD’s daughter he was getting cozy with in FB ops.

The person who they said was DD's daughter is a real estate agent.

Yeah, this headline looks bad for LSU, but I agree with all of your points. If he is still getting paid, that’s the biggest contract obligation they have to perform on. This is posturing to get a better/quicker settlement.

That said, I’m not quite sure I understand the entire premise of the lawsuit - if Kelly says he hasn’t been fired, and is still being paid…is he relieved of his performance obligations? This move just seems premature.

But that last part is contemplated in the contract as well. It does seem Kelly is trying to get his damage and relief from having to find work. I don’t see how he has any leverage on that. Hence the talks of settling

Lol. It’s too late to go back and fire CBK for cause now. That needed to happen from the beginning.

CBK’s attorneys are going to tear LSU a new a-hole.

And if you morons don’t think this shitshow will affect the coaching search, then the old cliche about selling you oceanfront property in Arizona applies.

Principal should win the day

Kelly didn’t put the work in

So I’m not paying the full buyout

There’s two ways to do this we could do it privately or we can do a public

You let Kelly decide how he wants to play ball

And then you play in the best interest of the university.

Hopefully, it’s all a blessing in disguise somehow someway because LSU deserves a coach who loves LSU and is all in and is a confident and beloved coach

We paid all this money for Kelly to F around on the job

That’s not right by any standard in the coaching profession

If I’m Lane Kiffin, I’m taking a little less money from Florida at this point.

Kelly has lawyered up because he is greedy and dumb. Big deal. This is actually a good thing because now LSU has subpoena power. Get his cell records. Depose his real estate agent. There is dirt to find. Don't pay him a dime until you have uncovered the truth.

But don’t get mad when all you can hire here at Scorched Earth University from here on out are Sun Belt Billys lookin to make their jump to the big leagues.

This suit is going to be dismissed. No actual controversy. He is still getting paid.

This is going to get ridiculous.

This means that LSU does not have the money in place to fire him and provide his buyout and provide salaries for any new staff.
