Are you confused? He hasn’t been terminated at this point. This was before he had the convo about firing coaches with Woodward
we're not 100% sure of the timeline but if the decision had been made that would have been standard protocol for a lot of places, a college buddy of mine texted me just as the rumblings about meetings and terminations began to appear on here that Kelly was gone, several of hours before the official announcement, I have to think the decision had been made as early as Saturday night

Brian Kelly living the dream...idgaf what nobody says. Imagine your job giving you money to never work again
but Kelly already had more money than he could ever spend from his years at ND and a few years at LSU.

His buyout will just add more numbers to his bank account, but his reputation has taken a huge hit. That's pretty important to most people.

We had a CEO met in the parking lot of the corporate office, told he was out and his personal items will be shipped to him. His credentials were removed before he arrived.

I suspect the booster meeting was scheduled and the decision was made well in advance of the aTm game. At one point in the first half, the camera showed Shaq on the sidelines. I’d be surprised if he just happened to be at the game that took place hours before a big booster meeting was held to discuss firing a coach. Instead, I suspect he was there for the meeting and went to the game as an aside.

That has to be a sick feeling.

It doesn't compare to that "sick feeling" when you watch the Tigers' performance on the field!

pretty standard for management types where I work, depending on the circumstances they may allow the person to go to their desk and clean their stuff out, accompanied by two security guards and a card board box

Not everybody will view his reputation the way LSU fans will. At the time he was fired, he was the winningest active coach in FBS and was 34-14 at LSU. Same winning percentage (.738) at Orgeron and not much worse than Saban (.750), Arnsparger (.750) and Miles (.770) and considerably better than legends like Paul Dietzel (.651) and Charlie McClendon (.692). And his SEC winning percentage is actually higher than every one of those coaches except Arnsparger.

wins a lot of games, just never the ones that matter, I'm sure he'll coach again, if he wants to, ADs and boosters can't help themselves

I got laid off once. Went to log in to my VPN and my password didn't work. It is a sinking feeling.
