Burrow= 11-24 140 yds
Brennan= 27-46 3 tds 2 int

Look I know we run two completely diffrent offenses now, but you have to give this kid a chance. Let him show us who he is really made of.

It's okay. Be that guy. It's been discussed ad nauseum. We didn't need another thread on it.

One guy won by 16 vs a top ten ranked team on the road.

One guy lost by 10 vs a non ranked team at home.

One guy's defense gave up 17

One guy's defense gave up 44

We can play this all day. The situations are not comparable

This comparison is not only not apples vs. oranges...

It is rotting crab apples vs. cocaine addicted aardvarks having sex with a platypus.

Let's just put each in context, individually, and go from there please.

It's apples and oranges.

In the end - Brennan was not put in a position to be successful, but still managed those stats. He easily could have had 50 points or more in that game if the coaches called plays that took the pressure off of him instead of pretending he's Burrow.

Please everyone stop this comparison. There is no way in hell you can compare Burrow and Brennan as there are too many variables. Geez there was a different staff, a different offense, a different opponent, Different players , hell a different defense, different number of returning starters. I could go on and on. If you feel the need to dig into analytics then research all of college football for players that were in their 4th year at school each who had very little real gametime experience to that point and compare those stats if you must. Even that is not going to give you satisfaction as you will realize damn there are too many variables. Burrow is and will always be a once in a generation QB. Comparisons to him are not fair regardless if He threw for 140 yards in his first game

FIFY Let's please stop trying to somehow turn Brennan into Burrow. It's not going to happen.

It wasn’t right to judge Joe Burrow on one game; nor is it right to judge Myles Brennan on one game. One game doesn’t define a player especially his first game as a starter.

It’s not fair to any player to call them out after one game.

Sure you can compare the two.
Both are LSU QBs. Both started their first game in their fourth season in college. Both guys had a less than stellar debut.
Now there are things that don’t compare. Burrow won his first game. Burrow transferred to LSU. Burrow had a more conservative O to run initially.

No one in their right mind should expect Brennan to measure up to Joe. Joe was our best ever. Instead people should realize that like Burrow Brennan should improve. One game shouldn’t define him.

Burrow time holding the ball: < 2 seconds.

Brennan? He's still holding it.

Burrow also only had 6tds / 4int in his first 9 games. 6 of those in which he threw 0 td's! But apparently everyone knew then he had "it" because he had moxie or some shite lol. People are delusional

Joe had plays where he held on to the ball for 10 seconds lol. Joe had more athleticism and more confidence in his arm and his receivers, so more often than not Joe was able to make great plays when he did hold on to the ball.

2019 Joe puts up 60 points and wins that game going away. 2018 Joe? Result might have been similar

Because E's god awful system coupled with garbage O line play dictated it.

People don’t remember everything, they only remember what they want to remember.
Joe Burrow didn’t just walk into our locker room and start driving a race car. He fought off competition, he fought to get the rust off from three years of watching others play, he worked his butt off to get better, and he learned another new system all in a space of about one year. Then he took the field for a great 2019 season.

Burrow didn’t become Joe overnight.
