Daniels has the potential to win a Heisman. Point blank. He’s won games and he’s been in big games.

There is something about Brennan that is off to me. Maybe it's the lack of confidence or swagger that Burrow had, or that Nuss seems to have. Maybe it's that the only passes i can recall he ever made with decent accuracy were short to intermediate passes. The bombs that he threw seem to be "throw it as far as i can and hope the receiver will be in position".

I feel we'll get further with Nuss, and i hate the idea of a run first QB, which is why i'm dismissing Daniels.

He's got to get better at throwing the ball first:

Jayden Daniels in 2021:

2300 yds passing, 10 TD, 10 INTs, 65% completions

The Brennan fascination is by far the weirdest thing I've witnessed on this site over the years.

I've seen this place write off a kid after one or two seasons... here it's offseason of year 6, another QB battle, another lackluster spring performance, and people still think Brennan is the answer.

I get it. I mean, he could have (and probably should have) left years ago and tried somewhere else. Instead, he toughed it out and didn't complain.

It would be a great Cinderella story if it turned out the way people hopes it does. I just don't think it will. And i'd rather not experiment with Brennan and maybe lose 1 or 2 games we shouldn't because we all hope Brennan is the hero we want him to be.

I think you're reading that.

Nuss is still young and Kelly has hinted that he may make some mistakes.

Daniels is a work in progress.

Like it or not, Brennan is probably the safest bet right now. Maybe that changes by game day.

Not saying Kelly “promised” him a starting spot but I’m pretty certain that a conversation in regards to the job being WIDE OPEN and the style of offense/experience that Daniels has.

Right but that also means he could very well be "sitting the bench" after coming from across the country

Daniels seems like he could get to the ballot box multiple times much quicker than Brennan.

Based on what? 3 career starts in 5 seasons against arguably the bottom 3 programs in the SEC, back to back season ending injuries, and he hasn't played a meaningful down in almost 2 years... and you mean to tell me he's our safest bet?

That’s with whatever coaching staff he had last year at ASU. That whole program is a sinking ship. I’m looking at the OC who coached a playoff team working with a guy that showed similar ability to Caleb Williams in his freshman season. Jayden Daniels is the most talented QB on the roster hands down. He was ranked higher than of the QBs on the roster coming out of highschool and he’s performed better from freshman year to now. He’s stayed healthy unlike Brennan. He played immediately and played well unlike Nuss. And he didn’t haveto redshirt like Howard. He was a gamer and still is. No one gives him the benefit of showing up two days before spring started. With a full summer and camp. This guy is gonna shred the SEC.

Facts!

I’ll never understand how people think he’s a safer bet than a guy with 30 starts and no injury history.

For starters, Brennan is more likely to throw a touchdown than an interception.

The question is… YOU are CBK, and here is your schedule...

Who gives ME the best chance to win GAME 1? Meaningful snaps matter... Miles

The 10-10 last year is a bad look, no arguments here about that. However he has also won a big road game against Oregon on the road as a true freshman, none of the other QBs on our roster have done anything like that at any point in their careers.

Game 1? Why do I care about his injury history? What is more likely.. MILES gets injured, or a RSFR is not as ready as he might be at PRACTICE?

Coaches decision... But I am not rolling out RSFR vs FSU, on NATTY, in Prime Time, unless he is just THAT much better...

It’s Myles*, also Daniels won more games as a true freshman than Myles has played in during 5 seasons. No way we can just write him off as an option.

No, but he is rough right now, and it's because the coaches are reteaching him some pretty basic things to make him better. I think we'll see more of Daniels in 2023.
