1. read the defense and identify mismatches
2. know where the pressure is coming from
3. Step up in the pocket to avoid the rush and prolong the play
4. Find WR’s in crossing routes underneath or behind the coverage

Joe had situational awareness and made decisions in less than 2 seconds. Brennan is waiting for plays to develope while running into sacks.

3rd & 3 (borrowed gif from rmnldr)
This cannot happen and was easily preventable by stepping up between the C and LG

In fairness to Myles, he in not as naturally as athletic as Joe and can watch those gifs a million times and still not have the mobility Joe showed in both.

stop your backpedal, run forward 3 steps. throw.

he can definitely do that. doesn't require massive athleticism, it takes timely decision making

Hey Einstein, WTF has he been doing the last 3 years ? He trained for two seasons under the greatest QB in CFB history. Was he not watching film on how Joe read defenses and extended plays ? As a RS-Jr., Brennan should have better situational awareness and not look like a deer in headlights.

Well there-in lies the problem. He is not the athlete JB is he can't do what Joe did. He need to watch how Tom Brady moves in the pocket not JB.

Burrow wrote his story with melted platinum. Brennan is writing his story with wet dog shite.

Not arguing the fact that he should have looked better. Just your ridiculous assertions in OP. Good day sir!

Having a feel for the pass rush & maneuvering in the pocket has nothing to do with athleticism. Tom Brady & Peyton Manning were less athletic than Burrow yet those 2 knew how to slide step, feel pressure, throw on the move or throw after having to reset their feet.

It does not take much athletic ability to step up in the fricking pocket or stand in there to complete a pass knowing you’re going to get hit. He’s scared and it’s obvious. He can’t hit the quick passes. Can’t hit check downs. He’s too slow to even gain positive yards on the ground. He throws a good deep ball that’s it. Well you know who else threw a good deep ball? Brandon Harris. Not a damn thing has changed since we last saw him. Wake up folks. We’re in trouble.

Ok cool, our first Heisman Qb ever is better than Brennan. That's a shock.

But in reality that was a bad play call that shod have been audibled. An yes Brennan needs to learn to climb up in the pocket rather than bail out the back. It Burrow a full season starting to learn how to do what he did on the Burrow gif you posted.

You guys are making the Lsu fan base look real dumb with this stuff. Who really expected Brennan to come out and look exactly like the best Qb LSU has ever had?

I expect a QB that has been on campus 4 years, been in film sessions & quarterback meetings for all those 4 years, worked on these things for 4 years at practice & who has had already played significant snaps at LSU to show & do better against a team like Mississippi St.

There was nothing complex about State's defensive scheme yesterday yet it confused the hell out of Brennan which he also openly admitted after the game. Auburn, Florida & Alabama have much better athletes on defense than MSU & will run more complex schemes. What do you think will happen then? Hell, Vandy has a very good defensive minded coach & I can see Brennan struggling again next week too.

If LSU does not put up move the ball in the 1st series next week, sit Brennan and play a freshman at least for the next 2 series. Last night was a total disaster and people need to stop sugar coating what happened.

That was a great play call. Every single receiver had body position for a hot read. Snap and release. Brennan could not execute. I really hope he learns to get the ball out of his hands in 2 weeks.

Pelini needs to be watching film, because he’s the reason we lost.
