To combat a growing brawl between several people on LSU’s campus after the game Saturday, the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office deployed non-lethal pepper balls. The Sheriff’s Office was asked to by LSU Police to remain on campus following the game to assist in monitoring a large gathering of students and growing safety concerns.
At 4:30 p.m. a brawl involving several women broke out and was encouraged by the growing crowd, the sheriff’s office said. The surrounding crowd was blocking officers from breaking up the fight, prompting the officers to deploy pepper balls onto the ground to disperse the crowd.
Didn’t see another thread about this. Seems like this was the same crowd where there was a shooting at a tailgate for last year’s homecoming game that resulted in Unity Field being closed on game days.
Apparently they relocated over by Greek amphitheater this year. I walked around this after the game going back to my car around 2pm. It was a shocking scene. Hundreds of people, smell of weed in the air, & (thankfully) a heavy police presence keeping the roads clear. Looked like something you would see on bourbon street during essence festival

They relocated everywhere. Our tailgate was over run around halftime by large crowds and loud music suddenly showing up. I have never seen the large crowds in our area before. Police did show up about an hour or so later and reinforcements trickled in to disburse the crowd.

Are we absolutely sure they are students? Surely there isn't a slant to this statement

If this involved any students, they should be expelled on Monday. I thought this new president was going to put an end to this, but I guess not.

It can’t be fixed because if you speak out publicly about it then you are labeled a racist. They know this. It’s a serious matter and there’s no solution

This is largely due to the smiling jack a$$ that was the previous President. Trying to let every person that had a heartbeat get into LSU, so it could be "Diverse".
Also, something needs to be done about these "block parties" that the local businesses sponsor.
We never really had that problem when I went to LSU in the mid to upper 80's, but we also didn't have "Social Media" that really ramps up large crowds in a few hours.
