Pretty spot on until the last misplaced statement. Bama didn’t necessarily have “ NFL caliber” QB’s.

Refused to throw the ball in the middle of the field

They might not be NFL starters but they are at least back ups.

That was my problem with Brandon Harris...He "Did not have the authority to change the plays?"
As a starting QB for the #2 team in the country...you can change a play or 2. Especially if your best player tells you to.
Jim McMahon once changed a play at the line of scrimmage that wasn't even in the game plan.

The Meerkat Offense. Every play, the team was looking at Miles on the sideline, "Are you sure you want us to run this play? They know what play you called."

I had a friend who was coaching for McNeese when we played them in 2010 (the year we were up 16-10 at the half and it was almost 17-10 MSU)
he said their coaching staff had our tendencies down. he told me that after 2 film sessions he could identify the majority of our plays by the formations, how we lined up, and the player grouping
This is so true. So tell me how is Miles supposed to be this great coach that so many people on this board claim.
Miles won a lot of games, but coaching and game-planning had nothing to do with it.

Miles had a failure of imagination when it came to the evolution toward spread, route tree, and read-based offensive schemes.
He milked for far too long the idea that he was some sort of ‘mad hatter’ game coach guru just because he gambled and won on a few trick/gimmick plays and 4th downs.
Love and respect the guy but he just did not let go and catch up with what was happening in college football (much less manage end of period clock time very well). Left a whole lot of Ws on the table...

It's like hitting the fast ball. You know it's coming!

I honestly didn’t there was a true vow to make changes with the “don’t fix what’s not broken” quote.

He added opposing teams, Alabama in particular, were calling out the Tigers’ plays before they even snapped the ball.

Brandon Harris once missed a wide open receiver and hit an Arkansas defender in the back of his helmet 4-5 yards behind the LSU receiver. He was horrible.

It just proves how stubborn and old school Les was.

Ok who cares? We all knew that for years. Miles is gone, let’s look forward instead of back 5 years.

Fournette would be begging him in the huddle to change the play
Brandon's never going to make it at LSU if he doesn't learn how or when to audible.

ok, Harris was not an elite QB.
Miles either had no idea how to develop his skills or most likely did not recruit well when it came to QB's.
matters not now. Miles should have been cut in 2015. earlier than that in my book.
yeah I'm not saying he every could've been a star, I have no way to know that. Just saying his failure at UNC doesn't necessarily mean anything about him either after wasting 3yrs of his life at LSU.

You don't know if that was an error on the receiver or the QB.
Remember Flynn threw such a pass in the BCS Championship game when the freshman receiver ran the wrong route.
I'm not blaming any QB that played for Miles, for not developing.
He had five star receivers and four star QBs that never lived up to their billing. The longer he staid, the more money he made, and the poorer the execution.

Miles liked it that way. He wanted them to know.
