Say what you want about Jennings, from Day 1 he was willing to put in the practice, film study etc.
There is no assurance Harris will ever overcome these two handicaps, but I sure hope does.
Idea: let's play the guy that works the hardest and performs better in practice. Let's leave the better player on the bench, because of you know, work and practice.

Harris isn't playing bc he doesn't know wtf he's doing out there.

Acknowledging your faults is not synonymous with emotional maturity. Possessing an emotional buffer during emotion-triggering events shows emotional maturity.

Sorry but all I read was "he seems" and "like a lot of other players" then a lot of blah blah and yada yada yada.
Your posts would get more respect if you used facts instead assumptions.
Not sure the need to tear the young man down, of course I am 99.9% sure you wouldn't say any of that to his face.

He doesn't need speed.
He had our longest rush of the year and averaged over 6 yards per carry. I'll take his speed (especially if we go more spread/read option, but I doubt it).
His arm strength is great. His accuracy is not. He needs to work on that the most.

quote:He has far more immature moments than mature ones. That is not tearing him down. It doesn't mean he is a bad kid or won't grow up. It just means he is a normal college freshman. Most kids aren't ready to lead a high major college football team at age 18. He (along with Jennings) was put in a crappy situation because of the poor recruiting and development ahead of him.

I don't think Jennings is the long term answer. But you don't reward kids who aren't putting in the work. Same shite with rp. He may have had all the physical tools to be a hell of a player. But he came in thinking his shite didn't stink. Now I don't think Harris will have the same off the field problems. But he needs to take the Job. Not it be given to him.

These idiots just can't accept this as truth.

I forgot that we still have folks willing to believe that our coaches intentionally play the less prepared player at QB. There will always be fans, particularly those who've never played much, who believe the guy with the strongest arm should always play.
I think those who ask for the presentation of only "facts" to support an argument of a subjective condition, like emotional maturity, are bound to be disappointed.
Anyone else remember Harris contacting a sports journalist asking that it be leaked that Harris was leaning toward Auburn? That was pretty interesting...

I am not saying Harris should be starting, I am not at practice so I have no idea what is going on there. I believe that the coaches play the player that gives the team the best chance to win. I think it is moronic to believe other wise.
I just don't see the need to tear someone down to support another, especially when said "facts" sound more like opinions; especially when you try to extrapolate the maturity while at LSU to when he was a high school student. I am sure your maturity as a high school senior differed from when you were in college. Once again; I know little to nothing about BH other than he is the backup QB and if he wants to be the starter he needs to work harder

I hope you are wrong, dgnx.
Just don't see that much upside to Jennings.
If that happens, Harris will have failed altogether to overcome the impediments to his success.
Unfortunately, the fact that Harris got so few reps after Auburn suggests those impediments are formidable.
Apparently, a number of posters here do not want to face this possibility.

Which puts in large company. Most of those rattling their cages about his not playing have no clue. They are just repeating what other know-nothings have been saying.
Sort of like the ignorant leading the dumb leading the stupid.
If he gives the best chance to win a game, he'll play.

Harris is raw as hell and real skinny to boot. Did you see some of the hits Jennings took this year? No way I'd want to lose him, and have him miss practice time because he has to rehab for months.
I said when he first comitted, that he needed at least a redshirt year. Since everybody else sucked and he was fighting for the start, I knew he wouldn't redshirt. I had then hoped that Jennings would play well enough that Harris could sit on the bench to learn and bulk up for a year or two.

Well, I am not bashing him or saying he has maturity issues. My statement about him working harder can be said for any backup. I doubt many of these critics could handle half the pressure or criticism given to these college kids.
