Brad WingWitten, right?

Yes, Jeremy did all the pooch punting, allowing Kessler to "swing for the fence" every time. He had a leg, no doubt, but his avg is high because of zero finesse/placement kicks.

Tommy Davis was punted in late 50's under Dietzel. Played for the 49'ers from 59-69 and made all-pro in 1962-63

2011 was the best season I think for any LSU punter

Wing was fantastic that year, but a ton of credit for his success has to go to Tyrann Matthieu and Ron Brooks. On a team without Honey Badger and Brooks, Wing merely would have had a lot of touchbacks.

His 2010 season is severely under rated because Wing had such a great season the next year.

Kessler was the first in NCAA history to average 50/punt for a season. Obviously that doesn't tell the full story about his season but that's still a pretty crazy stat

Well we also had a separate punter for pooch punts so Kessler's job was just to punt it as far as he could. Not having those 35yd punts when you're punting from the opponents 40 will certainly help the average. That being said, it was still impressive to average what he did.
