Arkansas did, as Petrino cleaned out the defensive staff as soon as he took over as interim.

That’s very different.

Only reason that would be granted is if they don’t intend to keep anyone at the end of the season.

Who yall expect to coach on Saturdays?

College coaching staffs are limited in personnel, they don’t have assistants to the assistants like the NFL does. Can’t fire everyone in season

Yall Frank does not have the authority to hire and fire people. You don’t give your interim coach that ability. He may consult on it but this is all coming from the AD at this point.

Maybe it is different here, but at Arkansas, Petrino shite-canned some of their defensive staff before Pittman had even cleaned his desk out.

LSU has enough "analysts" on staff to make do.

Let's see how the Oline blocks with a different play caller and different QB. The Sloan RPO plays have hamstrung this OLine the last 2 years. They have to passblock for the RPO's and the defenses didn't respect Nuss as a runner for obvious reasons. If MVB is the QB, and the OC is calling more traditional power run blocking plays, let's see what happens. I'd keep Davis till the end of the year to see if he's the problem or it was Sloan the whole time.

Firing Davis at this point would be counterproductive. The line is what it is and little can change in a few weeks. The effect of an offensive line coach begins in the Spring and continues in the Summer. Fall camp is usually just to finalize plans and designate starters. On the other hand, the offensive coordinator has much more effect on week to week performance with the development of the game plan and coaching the quarterback. Getting rid of Davis now would hamper LSU's ability to keep players out of the transfer portal and keep recruits committed.

Didn’t Orgeron say that when he was made interim head coach that he decided to remove the coordinator, promote someone in his place (Ensminger), and brough someone back into the program mid-season (Jenkins)?

I wonder if Frank believes it was Sloan’s scheme and wants to give BD the rest of the year to save face.. just throwing ideas out there

I don't know of a scheme that has the RT on all fours while the DE gets a free rush at the QB or the LT high fives the DE on his way into the backfield.

I think Austin Thomas is probably the SW plant in the building. He was brought back in 2021 in O's last year and back in 2024 for Kelly's last two years. I don't think it's a coincidence.

He is heavily involved this year on the sidelines.

players love him----all schools will need coaches who can connect, not recruiters.

he's a good recruiter[--- no longer matters as much anymore, being able to actually coach will become more and more important. The best recruiters are:
George Washington
Abraham Lincoln
Alexander Hamilton
Andrew Jackson
Benjamin Franklin

like stated coaches will always need to connect with players, just need to be able to develop those players now too.
