What part of the OP shows I was excited about blaming Aranda?
And to the dumb shites who say 104.5 guys were just pointing out stats. They said it was not LSU’s spread, it was LSU’s defensive scheme which they made sure to point out was Aranda’s . How ignorant can you get? This is just some people trying to clean up the mess left behind these radio guys. Clean up on isle 9!!!

A small contingent of the fan base has an inexplicable vendetta against Aranda. It’s odd.
No, it's not. As one poster said earlier this morning: Look at the points Aranda's defense allowed against Texas, UCF, and Texas A&M. It's alarming that Texas was able to convert so many third and long situations, and it needs to be addressed if we're going to win 11 regular season games. And that's all that matters in the end.

Same reason some gleefully attack Coach O. Agendas.
Except there was a consensus across the board nationally that Aranda was a great DC (has been contacted by other teams many time) as well as has the statistics to prove he is a good DC.
Coach O had none of those things.

Yes they were, clean up on isle 9!
No. No they weren't. They were simply discussing it and expressed confidence that it would be improved and "fixed".
This is why I never accept at face value the "reporting" we get here. This thread bears almost no resemblance to what actually happened.
pitiful

If you can’t understand why we gave up a lot of points in this one, I don’t know what to tell you. Not to mention the 7OT debacle that would gas any defense.
Not trying to say Aranda should be immune to criticism, I just don’t think two of the games you referenced are good examples of why he should be criticized.

I don’t want to draw too many conclusions about the defense from one game, especially one in which their QB was threading needles. “You can’t beat a perfect throw” is the general rule, yet Stingley did just that, and Fulton would have too if he hadn’t stumbled. That and at least one other TD throw in the middle we’re 50/50 balls that were less than 3 inches from being tipped/batted down. That’s 14 points against elite coverage that could easily not have gone on the board.
Nobody would be saying a damn thing about it if this game had been 45-24, and it was inches from being just that.
We did have some good luck too on the great call where the RB dropped the TD pass, but remember we also had another TD in the end zone that the receiver had beaten the safety but just didn’t get to.
The biggest positive is we were really tested. That means we can get even better on D, and I’m thrilled about it. To me, it’s the tackling in the 2nd half that needs to be addressed, and I’m sure it will be.

Yet the obsession with being negative about him carries on.
Just like Miles, some people refuse to accept what they didn't like in the first place.
Both Aranda and Orgeron are doing a fine job.

Gotta tackle better. It was atrocious.

They literally said that the players and O said there was scheme issues with the cage rush and showing the 2 high safety look and rotating out of it.
Not sure if you saw the game but we got waxed in the 2nd half on defense.
Y’all act like Aranda is Jesus and cant be criticized ever.

yep, that anyone can find anything to bitch about at this current moment in LSU football is a testament to the fricked up psyche of the rant
how's everything, Rog?

I don't think anyone is downing Aranda or the defense. Just pointing out shortcomings and liabilities. D has been porous the last 3 major games and he makes a ton of money and we look average.

was listening on the radio, and they abso-fricking-lutely did not "go after" Aranda. They were simply discussing FACTS and actual STATS -- thats not attacking a coordinator.
PS: they weren't wrong either, stop being dramatic.
It wasn't necessarily criticism of Aranda but more a reason as to why the defense was on the field so long...they couldn't get off because Texas kept converting 3rd downs.

Post the transcript of their broadcast this morning if you have the balls. I know ‘m right and you’re an idiot.

Why are you excited that the media is attacking LSU's defensive coordinator? Seems odd.
Seems odd for our defensive coordinator. Doesn't seem odd for our head coach or offensive coordinator. This board has historically cheered bashing of them if it fit their narrative at the time. Aranda is somehow above reproach on this board.

GTFO. UCF, A&M and UT all averaged over 31 points per game last year. And UCF we had basically no starters in the defensive backfield. Using those games to define Aranda is just hilarious.

Criticism is fine. Being giddy about it towards any coach is odd.
Not a difficult thing to grasp, yet, here we are.

Man I am a huge Aranda fan and think he’s the only reason O had a job coming into this season.
But he had a bad night Saturday. The defense deserves some criticism.
It happens and he has time to clean it up. But the lack of consistent pass rush may burn us before the year is over.

Not difficult at all. I agree with you. I'm just pointing out this hasn't been the tact of many on here regarding other coaches.
