ok so only one

but does LSU win lock in us at a national seed or do we need Rice to lose to lock it in?

Big 12 has had a good year but not good enough for them to get 2 national seeds at the expense of the 2nd national seed for the SEC.

Agreed.

The only thing that I've changed my mind on is this....I'll go ahead and say IMO it's done: OSU and LSU are getting the final 2 national seeds, regardless of the outcomes tomorrow. That's where I think we stand.

That said, root for OSU and root against Rice and obviously for the Tigers to seal the deal if we want to remove any doubt.

I am sorry I can't help myself..

but what is with all these people saying, "No way in hell LSU gets a national seed" all week long

Where are these people now? I can't stand when people say no way. Even if LSU doesn't.. they are absolutely in the conversation.

Any ways,

Well to be fair, our national seed hopes looked pretty slim to start this tourney, but I don't think anyone - including myself - realized how close/jumbled 7-18 was until everyone starting really analyzing it closely and comparing resumes cross-conferences.

Also, it was hard to imagine OleMiss/Vandy/USC ALL shittin the bed in Hoover. Had just ONE of them performed even decently in Hoover LSU probably had no hopes of a national seed.

You are correct...anyone that said we had zero shot was talking out their arse and just being a Debbie Downer...it was a longshot, but there was always a chance. Fortunately things played out EXACTLY like LSU needed them to to put us in this position.

No big12 representation? Interesting. I think any speculation that they'd possibly get 2 can be put to bed.

I'm okay with the Big 12 never getting representation again. 2009 was probably the worse job done by any committee in any sport. The chair was KSU AD.

Hell maybe the big12 gets no national seeds. I'd be surprised, but I guess it's certainly a possibility.

I see absolutely no way they get 2 tho.

And with southern miss loss tonight, we're back to 10....lol....Well virtually tied with Tx at .5900

Doesn't matter tho, we get up to 8, possibly 7, with a win tomorrow, regardless of Rice outcome. Easily hop Texas and rice and possibly even Vandy with a win over Florida.

Theres always one or two things that the committee does that leaves me shaking me head. Based on history it usually occurs with:

Committee bias usually the chair getting an extra at large with his conference..usually seems like if its a power conf then its a team right at the .500 mark. Wouldnt be surprised if UCSB gets in even though i'd have them out.

One National seed that is questionable but usually either team had a case so its hard to fault them there.

Usually their best thing is dispersing of the teams and making the regionals fairly balanced.

With how you guys have been playing as of late, it'll be hard to not give LSU a national seed if they win tomorrow.

I'd say the same thing about TCU.

I can tell you this much, NOBODY will be happy to get paired with LSU if they don't get a national seed.

I still wouldn't totally eliminate Miami as a national seed despite their performance this weekend.
