I'm excited about a good matchup no matter cotton or cap 1. We won't be factored in either

A trip to the cotton twice in 7 months would suck so much

I already bought two tickets to the Cotton last night so, I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Ticket sales wouldn't be a problem with either team. Arkansas will sell more hotel rooms and bring more money to the city because they are more likely to stay a few days.

esp. since arky has not been to a bcs bowl since joining the SEC. the sugar bowl is going to be their "we've arrived" party.

What if South Carolina beats Auburn?
South Carolina - Sugar
Auburn - Orange or another BCS at-large
Arkansas - out of the BCS, possibly back to Cotton
LSU - ???

When will the bowls announce teams selected?

next Sunday. Next Sat we still have to do the conf champ games of the ACC, SEC, Big 12, a couple of lesser conf champ games, and one or two last games of the regular season. Oregon Oregon State.
Then the BCS voting will be done. The 3 Big Ten co-champs will be distributed
best BCS to the Rose Wisc
#2 to the Sugar THE ohio state u buckeyes
#3 to the cap one Sparty

Stanford is sweating getting into the top 4 over Wisc.
If Stanford gets #4, they are the Rose Bowl opponent v Wisc.
If Stanford is 5th, they will be in the ALamo bowl.
they do not have many alumni and do not travel well.

if oregon makes the bcs championship, the rose bowl must take TCU as 'their PAC 10 champion'

if no upsets next week, it is oregon - auburn in the BCS championship and wisconsin - TCU in the rose bowl... if stanford is top four they are guaranteed a BCS bowl...

but I only care who our tigers play and where - michigan state appears to be the highest ranking opponent possible for us - this would be the capital one bowl.

Anybody who went to Cap One last year (well, this year, to be precixe) will think twice about going back. Lousy weather, lousy field (I know, they put in a new surface), stadum that makes Tiger Stadium seem state of the art (think (BR Memorial Stadium), really crappy neighborhood with limited parking, and once you've been to Disney World, you've done Orlando
.

not sure what the likelihood of the CapOne inviting us back again, but the payout difference between the CapOne and the Cotton is over a million dollars. You have to think the bowl officials want every seat to have a warm body in it on new years day to maximize revenue. We SHOULD end up playing Mich State in Orlando, but I think we will end up playing in Dallas or Tampa instead.

Doesn't matter . An SEC team is going to both and the conference shares the bowl money evenly.

doubt we go to capital one two years in a row. sec teams 2-5 are a toss up and the capital one, outback, cotton, and chickfila pick in an order and lsu will probably go to cotton because of location. capital one would probably bring in a similar revenue with bama. at least we can recruit some junior talent while in texas.

I don't care so much about the location since I am not coming down, but do care about the opponent. I like LSU playing Michigan St. I don't like LSU's chances vs Oklahoma St, Nebraska or OU.

cotton bowl against aTm or nebraska. They don't have to invite the loser of the big 12 championship
