Because BK and MD are obsessed with mobile QBs.

So BK convinced Brennan to come back knowing that he didn't want him, and didn't even give him a chance to win the job?

You're a weirdo.

I don’t have much hope for on schedule throws if he couldn’t pull it off against Southern. I still believe he can lead a potent offense, especially if they can get the running game to just be average.

I mentioned that to my father when we played Fl. St. He's not anticipating the throws. Needs to get rid of it a little sooner. Maybe the speed of our receivers is throwing him off.

I agree and I hope LSU is coaching JD up to anticipate the patterns Boutte is running and throw him and other receivers open more often.

What I see is that JD is not making anticipatory throws where he leads the receiver into the open window.

This...ive been saying this since game 1...there were guys going to open windows and the throw was late or not thrown....two prime examples was Jaray Jenkins touchdown catch against FSU...He was open well before the throw...as well as Jack Bech TD catch against Southern...Boutte was wide open at his break into the endzone.

only we had had a QB who stays in the pocket and goes through his professions, is accurate, has a big arm but doesn’t make boneheaded YOLO throws. Oh wait…
who was that? The bum that quit bc he couldn’t beat out nuss? Or nuss who can’t stop throwing picks?

Sorry I wanted the him over the one-read scrambler or the guy who rolls to his left and throws late into triple coverage.

he is very slow processing and scanning. looked right way too long. bech was wide open on skinny post on left side then he had to break off route and do a deep EZ out and daniels finally found him. if you are doing a pre snap then quick post snap read of the safeties before scanning right to left he woulda seen bech sooner but he isnt. field vision is lacking right now

Have you ever played QB? Even in touch football? Everyone is open; just ask them. You don’t even have to ask, because they are going to tell you. And many of them actually are open, but you have to be looking at THAT guy and at THAT moment. And you have to be set and have no pressure.

Also, unless you saw the whole 22, you don’t know who was open. Receivers run through gaps in zones, but that doesn’t make them open, even if it looks that way to a fan on TV. There could be guys in the way that would force a lofted pass that would give other guys time to get to the receiver.

Nearly everyone complained about our line last year as well. I think last year’s line was worse than this line. Frazier, Shorts and Campbell are all upgrades. Dellinger and Turner are probably comparable. Daniels did much better as a QB against Southern, but he also had plenty of time and open receivers. Max has a weak arm, but he used to get rid of the ball fast last year, because he got instant pressure, so I don’t think he’d be dead. I like Daniels, but I’m not going to blame the line for his inability to release the ball.
