Bunting was ok. Execution was bad. Not pinch hitting for Watkins was a fail though

frustrating loss

LSU got a couple of huge breaks. Especially Mahtook getting picked off in the 8th, but they should have pulled this one out.

It's just one game and it sounds crazy but I hope this one tough loss doesn't come back into play in the final SEC standings.

I don't like the bunt mainly because watkins was due up next. His weak arse isn't getting the runner homer

i thought about that.. and am still considering it.. but seriously.. why is a coaches decisions unquestionable?? why are we not allowed to criticize? i said before the bunt attempt.. no way we should be bunting jones with a runner already in scoring position.. and trey on deck.. im sorry u just dont give an out there for trey to try to get in.. its just my opnion.. and its just my own critique..

will be over it by tomorrow and rooting for the W.

Noone is questioning the calls, a bad coaching decision is obvious and thats what it was. It is just a statement of fact. I bet CPM wishes he had called it different too.

I think PM saw Jones swing out of his freaking shoes on the first pitch and thought...ok...maybe i better calm things down and just have him get the ball in play..and get the runner over. It was not a bad call...just horrible execution.

Man I hope he figures it out soon, we need his defense up the middle. Has he passed his total from last year already?

It isn't just the bunt call. It's the situation. We had all the momentum with a wild pitcher up there throwing to one of our best hitters. Even if he gets the bunt down how can you have confidence in Watkins?? Never know if he will put it in play or not. And that is beside the fact that jj hadnt been able to get one down all year. I can see the bunt with: 1. A hitter that can deffinitely get the bunt down. 2. Someone behind him that will put the ball in play somewhere. It was just not the right call. I understand play the odds and crap but not with Watkins coming up

Yea, after the fact sure it is, I bet if you put CPM in that same situation 10 more times he makes that call another 10 times. Ever heard the phrase "Hindsight is 20/20"?

that was certainly a frustrating loss. It definitely stings.

I'm definitely concerned with Ott and our defense. We continue to make mistakes that now finally cost us a game.

Still doesn't do shite for you besides set up a double play scenario. Percentages dont play favorably at all with PM tonight.

No shame in admitting a great coach made a bad call. The biggest issue is the on deck batter who is your worst hitter. No guarantee they don't throw the runner out at third either.

So you have enough confidence in watkins that you take the bat out of jacobys hands??

Yes and the next 10 times when he screws it up you are going to have people on here saying it was a bad decision.
