And I didn’t disparage your idea at all. Can’t say the same for you or the projection you just posted.

That post wasn’t addressed to you bub. Calm down

Well actually if you could read you would scroll up and see that you started off by saying “I don’t see why we complicate getting an extra yard”
And my response was if it were that easy then everyone would do it?? you think Kiffin in his head thinks “damn let’s see how complicated I can make this” nah bro he’s just trying to score points and get a yard.

Not upset in the slightest just trying to understand exactly what you’re saying

Getting 1 yard is not easy and that’s been proven. If Kiffin could line up and run it up the middle every time to get it he would. But now with this play and its variations you’ve created more than the ability to gain “just 1 yard”

glimpses of what it was like when a coach draws up a play that completely fools the defense, and I'm talking about the Game of the Century against Bama in the regular season in 2011 when we did the reverse to... damn it I'm getting old... the tight end that was badass on a 4th and short and it shocked us too.
wasnt that at home and he housed it or close to it, down to the 1? like 2010?

You can also keep downvoting. Not sure how that’s making you feel any better.

My bad, I wasn’t saying it as opposition to your idea. It’s just ridiculous that we’re lining up in SG inside the 5 all the time.

The 4th and one vs atm created more problems for DCs.

I 100% agree with the shotgun aspect you’re talking about. Kiffin explained it as the running back getting the ball quicker than a normal under center hand off? I feel like you’re still restricted to just inside zone tho from that play.
With this formation you’ve got a million different options. Even with just jones back there not Clark.

It’s a numbers argument. You’re looking at near 10% better success rate inside the 5 and a 20+% success rate at the 1 with the QB sneak being the most effective at an 89% success rate compared to the inside zone at 68%. as your most effective SG play.

So under center has proven to be the more effective option is what you’re saying?
Because I would agree with that as well. I guess I’m just on team have as many options as possible.
if there gonna go shotgun I like the way they’re doing it now because they are able to deceive much easier now. Especially with the 4th and 1 wrinkle against A&M.

I love Kiffin also but it’s frustrating we can’t or won’t do this when we need to. Not a Kiffin specific complaint, nobody in college doesn’t it.

There is no "but." Kiffin knows what he is doing and you don't. When you get hired by a major football team as head coach get back to us.

You really think you’re accomplishing something here? Lol the title was literally about being bored… and I claimed multiple times to not posses the same knowledge.
You just trying to start something it’s beyond obvious. Never once did I attack kiffin.
I was looking for a genuine football knowledgeable person to tell me why it wouldn’t work.

yes . the reverse wasnt game b of the century and he didnt score

I never have and never will be a fan of shotgun on short yardage situations, specifically 3rd and 4th and short. But a lot of coaches that are considered offensive gurus run it, so I've given up bitching about it. The play they ran out of it Saturday certainly gives teams something to think about.

I like it . :)
Although Kiffin has already thought of doing this against Alabama , and now you have exposed it . :(

Oh its coming. I could see a 4th goal vs bama and something of this nature comes to fruition.
This post needs to be bookmarked to revisit later.
I hope you are correct.

How about we line up with 2 backs, 2 or 3 Tight Ends and smash somebody in the face?
