The reason they make fun of Les is because he is a great guy who can take a joke. Imagine if they had made fun of Saban with his 1 second timeout against Auburn.

The media loves Les because he is real, talks to them and plays along. Ever hear Jim Harbaugh do an interview? Like pulling teeth.

Les is quirky but that is exactly why the media loves him.

What I don't get is that Les has become a running punchline because of his time management screw ups, boring offenses, and lack of player development. But all of the sudden, we're nuts to want a change

....and his inability to put together a coherent sentence

Yeah, should only listen to the former players (yes I know he didn't play for Les) who praise your savior, right? Everyone else is just biased against the infallible one

He will be defended, but Les' tenure while having its successes is a bit overrated. I'd be interested to see the attrition he has relative to other coaches with top classes, because to have the key players recruited leaving is just absurd.

Look at his vaunted 2014 class' players that are gone and did almost nothing:

Javonte Domond (is he even still on the team)
Clifton Garrett (wow, what a miss)
Valentine
LMFAO

Those are key guys in those classes and they were pretty much useless.

2013 class:

Bain - gone
Brazil - gone
Melvin Jones - gone
Leslie - did absolutely nothin
Robinson - gone

Those aren't all huge start guys but were needed to be significant contributors with 4 of them gone for behavioral/academic issues.

Think about that. That is ridiculous and not even 2 years into their time at LSU.

Again, Les had multiple years with less than 1 LBer in a class, multiple years with less than 2 entire DL in a class, another year with 2 Lbers which were Welter and Muncie, yet people wonder why this team has issues.

Add onto to the fact that recruiting is supposed to be his biggest strength and it is leading to disaster and Booger is right to say what he is.

THIS 10000%....

He can recruit talent but what good is the talent if it never sees the field...

I'll take a 3 star that plays over a 5 star that is dismissed from the team....

It's not just about the recruited talent. You have to develop that talent, and that happens at some positions but not others, and even NFL coaches were getting it straight from the players. That doesn't happen without something being wrong.

The only problem with theory is you don't have to re-marry but you have to hire a coach. If u were married and at the divorce proceedings you were having to get re-married.......you might think hard about the divorce.

OMG This! I brought a similar analogy earlier today. Miles hasn't changed in 11 years. Do people really believe getting another OC will do anything but what it has his whole time being here? Ever since Jimbo's stock of QBs have run out, we've been straight garbage at that point from evaluation to development. That's not going to change with El Stubborno coaching again. Keep Miles here, we squander 5 stat Dupre, 5 star Fournette, 5 star Tyron Johnson, 5 star Guice, etc.

If Tyron Johnson, Malachi Dupre, or Trey Quinn went to Clemson, or TCU, or Baylor or FSU or UCLA, or TAMU, etc they'd be killing it year one. We have a gold mine at WR and TE and RB, I mean the talent at receiver is massive, but we fail to utilize it.

Look at Kavontae Turpin at TCU.
37 rec 569 yards 7 TDs

Every single one of his stats is better than our best WR's stat and he is the #3 WR on his team.

In addition he is 1/2 for 18 yards, 1 punt return TD (10.65 avg), and 13 car for 91 yards.

Look at Deon Cain true freshman at Clemson or their true freshman Artavius Scott last year.

Look at Christian Kirk true freshman at TAMU or Speedy Noil true freshman from last year

Look at KD Cannon true freshman at Baylor last year

Look at Calvin Ridley at Bama

Look at Calloway 3 star true freshman at Florida

Glad to see Boogs gets the respect as an analyst he is due. Did you catch his report a couple of days ago on why our running game is down? Said the main thing was not having JD Moore and Dillon Gordon. The replacements are just not as strong and the holes that Fournette blew thru before just were not there. Gave props to bama and hog lines but also said that if our guys were healthy LSU could have run ALOT better. Would it have made a difference? Who knows? Football is funny that way.

Yeah I guess he can talk smack like that. He did play for LSU back in the Gerry DiNardo days from 1995 to 1999. What was LSU's record back then? Then Nick Saban came in for a brief period and left us and Les has come in and maintained a solid program. Much better than when Booger played.
