I wouldn't say this about North Carolina, and Boise seems to stay pretty consistently decent. West Virginia, definitely on the decline.

BSU, UNC, UWV, UF, UGA, Ole Miss, Arky, Auburn, Alabama all in the same year? You don't really know much about football scheduling do you?

Apparently you don't ranter...

Boise State you should beat, this is not the Boise team that beat OU, they are good but no reason why LSU shouldn't be able to handle them...

UNC...McNeese damn near beat them at their home last year...they are improving but no where near the talent as LSU, again LSU should be able to put them away...they are a middle of the pack ACC team...

UWV...solid OOC opponent...tough game...

I would rather see that schedule than ULL, La. Tech or Tulane...

Boise State has played games @ South Carolina, @ Arkansas, and @ Georgia this decade--all without a return trip to Boise. That's a good precedent for this to be more than a rumor.

But I wonder why Boise would do this. They can make it as an at-large to a BCS game by going undefeated and playing one Pac-10 team. Would the payout balance out falling down the bowl tier? Just seems like a smarter strategy on their part to stick with the home-and-homes with Oregon/OSU/Washington.

I'd love to see this game, but I bet it doesn't happen.

Money I'm sure is a huge factor. But they can still make a BCS Bowl with 1-loss. It's easier now than before with 5 BCS games instead of 4.

national attention

Even though their game with Oregon this year is a getting some hype, it's nothing like they would get from playing LSU, even with a loss

If we get them on the schedule in 2010 that is no doubt a NC-type of schedule. We go 12-1 or 13-0 (winning the SECCG obv.) we should be a shoe in for the NCG.

Lynn Rollins has a LSU radio show in the alex area on mondays, they mentioned last week about a game to be played in Atl next season or next vs bcs school. Never heard them say who, I assumed it was unc.

NO, keep home games in Baton rouge. I can't stand that, A home game should be in Death Valley.

But even if you win these games, you will be much more beat up and less rested come SEC play. You're much more likely to lose an SEC game you shouldn't. Or not win one you could have. And your backups will get less reps.

I'd rather see us compete for championships than fulfill some selfish need to be entertained every single week of the season. I think a balance can be found without having to play 3 very good OOCs every year.

WTF is wrong with that?

I swear to Christ - some of y'all wouldn't be happy unless we scheduled the Steelers and Patriots for OOC games.

This I agree with. However I would take La tech and ULL with a Texas or Michigan mixed in.

I think he was saying he doubts we play that good of an OOC schedule in 1 season. And I agree. No chance of that happening.

PAC-Ten teams like USC don't seem to need to make excuses like this. This is all just an excuse. Elite teams should schedule good OOC games overall, there is no excuse to pussy-out and play 3 or 4 gimmies. Whether some of you guys or not really believe every SEC game is tough, the bottom line is if we schedule 3 or 4 crappy OOC teams our schedule ends up looking like half crap. Because we ALWAYS will play 2-3 SEC teams that do not even make a bowl game.

I don't consider WVU/BSU/USM/@Tulane to be a very tough OOC schedule. When I think of very good teams I'm thinking Top 15 type of teams of which only 2 of those have a chance to be that, and neither WVU or BSU are guaranteed to be that.

We should start scheduling tougher OOC. We could definitely pay for not doing it one year just like Auburn in 2004.

All I have to say is you might be saying things differently if last year we went 12-1 (winning SECCG) and got left out of the NC Game because we played Troy, Tulane, North Texas and App State all at home.

yea to all the bitches out there saying that we should scedule weak OOC's b/c it helps us compete for a NC is bull shite... one of the only reasons we made it to the 07 NC was b/c we shite down the throats of a top 10 Virginia Tech team... if we don't play VT that year we prolly don't get into the NC game

I'd personally love to see an OOC schedule like that..but I'm sure I'm in the minority on that here.

And I'd be surprised given comments made publicly by Miles that he would allow 3 quality OOC opponents like that.

I'm all for more tough, fun football games for our Tigers every season, but I can't help thinking that more challenging ooc ooponents would be harmful, not helpful. Our SEC schedule, not including ooc games, is already tough enough without throwing MORE ranked/bowl bound teams at us. The only people who should want this to happen is PAC 10 and tOSU fans. LSU already plays in the fastest, meanest, and best coached league in the country. One that also happens to have more parity then anywhere else, where every game is crucial. More excitement would be great, but imho fwiw it would just make the most difficult road in college football that much more difficult.
