He is an azz hole (think Meet the Fockers ) and a smuck, but he is also one hell of a coach.

Remember, using a or an depends on the sound that begins the next word. So...

Nah, neither is wrong. When it comes to those tweener cases when preceding a word that starts with a consonant making a vowel sound (a[an] herbal tea), it's a matter of preference. Some of the greatest writers of the english language have differed on this. And they, not the grammer books, are the final authorities. My preference is that the article is matched with the sound.

He just called to tell me when Petrino arrived he told a security guard wearing an LSU hat "that's disrespectful to me and my team, take off the hat or get out the fricking building".

Is he related to Mike Gundy?

First off a security guard at a hotel is not going to be wearing a team hat

In the Seattle hotel we stayed in when road tripping up there, there was a purple Washington chair in the lobby. Apparently it was some special deal and they got pissed at all the LSU fans sitting in it, so they kept turning it to the wall and pushing it out of the way, to try and prevent us from sitting in it.

They got real pissed when I did this...

Don't under estimate the Homers.

Petrino got thrown off by the LSU hat on Miles head. That is the reason.

In Louisiana they teach us "I before E except after C." Is this not universal?

I heard a different version where the guard took off the LSU hat and replaced it with a Falcons hat.
