April, a 63-year old who has not coached in college since 1990, would replace Bradley Dale Peveto, who coach Ed Orgeron fired on his first day of having the permanent head coaching job on Nov. 26.
How does that make you feel if you're BDP?

It is amazing how many people do not take the time to read the original link

Shea is reporting that he's only coaching the bowl game, nothing else
Could it be that he won't be hired as a coach yet, so we will remain short handed in number of coaches, thus O gets more recruiting visits.

According to O he's not coaching

#LSU coach Ed Orgeron: Bobby April will do no coaching on or off the field. Will work as a consultant. GA Carter Blount coach special teams

Bobby'so daughter Jackie is a legit 8.85. Julie was very pretty too but personality dropped her down to the 6 range.

I like the resume, but I mostly value position coaches on recruiting.
Yeah, let's get em all to campus and let them coach themselves. That's pretty much what happens when you have too many "Great Recruiters" on the Staff. That's been a big problem at LSU. There's no talent development because the GR's are in over their heads from a pure coaching stand point.
TR kiddies don't understand this. (Like many other aspects of what it takes to win Championships)

I heard on the radio yesterday maybe Bobby April III as ST/LB coach and Bobby April Jr staying on next year as a consultant with his son. The Third may be looking for a job if Rex is fired in Buffalo

I may be missing something here, but why do we care about a special teams consultant for one bowl game? How is that even worth the energy to think about? And the talk of recruiting? That wouldn't pertain to him, would it? How would a guy under that title have anything to do with recruiting?even if he stayed on full time,a consultant for special teams wouldn't mean anything at all to a recruit...so what am I missing here? Is there a chance that he potentiAlly replaces bdp or what?

I'm just happy that the current staff understands that ST's are supposed to help you win games, not consistently jeopardize them. The past few years have always felt like we were going against a hockey power play when we were on ST.

Maybe this is temporary thing to feel each other out. See if Bobby is interested in getting into the college game where he hasn't been since 1990. LSU and O get to see if Bobby is good fit for the program.
