Bob Stoops laying in wait for the LSU job?

The Sooners were eager to move on to Riley. Is Stoops stepping aside to let the Coach O saga and other similar hires play out just to throw his hat in the ring for a high profile job?
I know this is foil hat material just interesting to hear Patterson say "I didn't hear him say he wouldn't be back in the sport"
ETA: Not claiming that this is the reason he left the program. But will he move on to another high profile college job if their hires don't work out.

It is entirely too early to be drinking, but I can't say I'm not jealous

Good coaches don't sit out of coaching waiting for a job to open up that may never be available for them.

we could only hope he'd be willing to come clean up this mess of a team

I could see Stoops possibly pursuing a NFL job, I think he's done with college, the whole Mixon thing probably soured him on ever going back.
In the NFL they dole out the discipline now and he doesn't have to deal with all the college BS.
He will be in a prime position to be interviewed for potential NFL openings.

No way he has the energy of doing something like that again.

This job will be open in 3 years

Yea because the LSU job is WAY BETTER than the OU job.

Where do our fans think this stuff up from?

Never said it was better. OU feared they were going to lose Riley soon if Stoops stayed. They opted for the future.

Exactly what he's doing and it's surprising this hasn't been news yet
Wtf

I will say that unlike the buffoon Les Miles, Bob would have gotten the Houston job had he interviewed for it.

1. I am just as critical of the Coach O hire as anyone, but can we at least see how he does before we fire him?
2. Didn't Alleva just fire a coach that basically has the same resume as Stoops?
