Did anyone else hear Bob Stoops on Will Cain the other day? Will made a comment about the Big 12 known for having great offenses and the SEC great defenses. Stoops said it' easy to have great defenses when you lack great offenses and great Qb's. Will then said that may be changing with LSU, and Stoops replied I thought the same thing. So even Bob Stoops is impressed with the new offense LSU is bringing to the SEC.

I maintain that his departure from OU was very curious.

Do you think FSU's first phone call will be to him or Urban?

Curious is the understatement of the century. And funny, all the OU fans surrounding me on a daily basis never questioned it, not even one bit.

One of my vendors services the OU campus and said that it was flooded with quiet whispers about Stoops' departure being because of some bad things involving the team and staff that the university didn't want to get out, but he wouldn't elaborate.

And as far as his comment about defenses being better if you don't have elite offenses and QBs in the conference... that's bogus too. That 2003 OU offense was for the ages, and LSU'S defense held them to 168 total yards of offense.

West Virginia and Oregon had video game offenses when they played LSU, and the Tigers defense was the difference in both those games.

I think the USC job comes open no mater what. There is a lot of chatter that USC has already reached out to Urban and expressed their desire. I think Urban would much rather coach at USC than UT or FSU.

Stoops and urban are way too big at this point to take the fsu job. It's Notre Dame, USC, or nothing

That's all I can remember from that prick, talking to Lynn Swann like that.

I seem to remember LSU shutting down OU and what the media was calling the greatest offense ever in 2003.

He was a defensive coach that had a shitty defense for years, so of course he would say that. He’s still the same douche he was back when he was coaching.

Honestly that was before the Big 12 turned into an almost pure offensive league though

They played pretty good defense. Prime example - 77-0 vs TAMU

Yep, held them to under 200 yards total offense.

Their rebuttall has always been the QB wasn't 100%

Blah...

Now we've vanquished both programs from that region.

He left because of s health problem. I don’t remember exactly what it was. His family felt like they would have him around longer if quit coaching.

I think Meyer is the better coach of the two, but he runs a "Sons of Anarchy" type of program...
