he's 4 inches taller than the two running backs in front of him. he can see where holes could be developing a lot faster than Ford and Ware

I'm worried about the Ware spin move against Alabama.
Don't worry about the bama game, we will be throwing the ball.........and completing them.

Against Florida, we will need Ware to wear them down. We'll have to do what Bama did to them.

Didn't Harvey Williams start as a Freshman?

If Ford was the best at hitting the hole he wouldn't be on the sideline for pretty much every short yardage play, imo.

Ware is a warrior, but I think he struggles with his vision sometimes. He just puts his head down and tries to ram it in there sometimes, when he should make a cut. He's still learning though.
Ford is great when you give him a little opening. But, he has a tendency to run "soft" at times and lose his concentration.
I think the Blue to Addai is a good comparison. Of course that's comparing him to Addai when he was here. I look for Blue's workload to steadily increase.
I believe once Magee gets a full offseason, he's going to be really good.

not so fast. Kentucky
Yeah i'd have to agree here that maybe Kentucky played a role in open holes available. But still great effort.

Blue is improving, there is no doubt about that.
I think Ware and Magee just know what Miles wants. He wants to punish a defense. Slam them, Hit them, Break them, Hurt them..... then let Ford/Blue come in and gash them.
Works great for me, we stay fresh, beat the hell out of people, don't destroy our RB's knees, and teach our guys pro-style O so they increase their chances of playing in the pro's.....
I love this identity.

not to mention, our recruiting has really been focused the last year or two as far as sticking to a particular style of player..... We are redshirting some freaking monster linemen this year.

Look at the yards per carry. Again, not saying Blue is any better. I'm just saying that he seems to be finding the hole better
dude...stop. He has gotten late carries this year, and had a few runs vs kentucky. Are you related?

It was one game against Kentucky. Settle down.

Its just like blackjack when you hit 5 hands in a row. Doesn't mean you are the best blackjack player. Ford has put up the numbers so far.

The salient fact about Ford that keeps him from more playing time is that he misses assignments. Most of the plays do not go to the tailback, but he still has important responsibilities. Ford blows those assignments too much. Les Miles is going to give reps to the back who has the best ball security, who blocks his position and runs his routes, who runs the ball well, and who punishes tacklers - and I think it's just about in that order. Fans want the guy who runs best in the open field. Thanks goodness Les is picking the tailbacks!

Right, if Ware can't go, I think Magee steps into his role, not Ford. That dude runs hard as frick. Blue is a nice back--and better than I think a lot us, myself included, gave him credit for. But he's a complementary one, not a starting one. It's be nice to throw to him out of the backfield, I think. Great athlete.
