Blame Les Miles for the current atmosphere in Tiger Stadium

People here keep asking the same, tired question as to why people are leaving early and how can it be improved. It is being improved right now and the removal of Miles was the first big step.
LSU football under Miles, especially the last few years, was boring, frustrating football. A complete miserable experience to watch supreme talent either flounder around with weaker foes or get smoked by a team with equal talent, and far superior coaching.
I went to LSU from 2001-2006, and attended the vast majority of games and would stay the entire time. The stadium was always loud and rocking, because football was fun.
I went to the Ole Miss game a few years back with my ex-father in law and the game was complete boring misery. He left at halftime because LSU looked sloppy and pitiful against an Ole Miss team that wasn't very good. I stayed, but realized how much more I enjoyed watching the game at home.
Miles completely sucked the life out of the fans because they came to expect and accept sub-par, boring football.
So give it some time. Whether it is Coach O, or Herman/Fisher/etc; the culture will change as a competent coach suited for today's game will make Saturday Night at Tiger Stadium great again.

Why would I? It's a shitty thread based on title alone.

Nah. Plenty of blame to go to Les on the football end of things, but honestly, people leaving early is more of a function of today's society and technology and how ridiculously longs games are. People don't have the attention spans they used to, watching a game on TV in the comfort of your own home is in many ways better when it isn't a premier game, and the games are so damn long.

I blame the people in the stands

Because it's absolutely true...if you would read it instead of being useless you would know that

I agree
I thought the big plays we had in the second half this week would go a long way to entice people to stay til the end
we'll see

this, as much as anything, they need to limit tv time outs like the NFL, also, beer sales would cut down on a lot of that

They really don't have the attention span when they are watching the offense toss dive into stacked boxes

Nope, you're wrong and your parents should feel eternal shame for the result of their sexual endeavor.

It is certainly a contributing factor. The past 2 game days have had a more lively crowd IMO. (even considering a later crowd or USM)
I still think the piped music is to blame. The band played maybe 5 times in the second quarter.
Last, the stadium compared to it's counterparts, is a dump. Concession and bathrooms have long lines and are gross. I grew up in TS, and love it. Going to LSU games has been a big part of my life. (My whole family goes)
But, after traveling around the country and seeing other stadiums, we need some serious maintenance. I'm not sure how it will happen, but it needs to be done. My wife waited 30 minutes in line for the bathroom to change my daughter. There are no changing tables for diapers/childcare.
There was no trashcan for used hand towels in the men's room and the list goes on.
I know upgrades are coming, but they better be huge. people are realizing they can stay home and watch the games with a clean bathroom, A/C, good food, and beer.

He's not wrong though man I hate to say it.

wow....this is akin to Blame Bush, except Les and LSU have never been sub par since 2000...sure we were not always SEC Champ, or NC, but we also never had losing record, even close, which to me is sub par.
However, I would agree program momentum was falling and we needed a change, however leaving at half is not unique to LSU, all of CF had the issue, recall Saint Nick last year getting on students leaving bama games early...CF D1 attendance (not just leaving early) is down 2-3% each year the past 5 years...however unless you want to say Les invented wide screen super high res TV's and the SEC network not sure it is his fault...wow again..

yeah he was so great. How I forget the excitement he brought when he marched out a team of future NFL players and had them struggle against unranked opponents

Eat more brains, maybe it'll have a positive effect.

as much as I love TS this is the truth, they could spend a little $ to update the facilities as they keep building sky boxes so high that they need need to be pressurized
