After reading this thread I can only come to the conclusion that Paul Mainieri is the greatest college baseball coach of all time and has never, ever made a mistake in his career.

Amazing the number of posters that think they could go and coach college baseball. If you knew how Skip was, the coaches' today coddle their players way more than Skip ever did.

If Skip had the media attention at CPM gets now he would use the media to get to his team just as much if not more than CPM does. I don't understand the people that come on here and act like the players that stay care about what he says to the media. You don't want the coach to call you out to the media don't mess up. The ones that it bothers transfer and if they can't handle their coach telling the media they messed up when everybody saw they messed up do you really want them when the pressure is tense on the field.

Anybody who claims to be an LSU fan knows that J.C. Politz called the games in the 1950's, including Billy Cannon's famous Halloween night punt return against Ole Miss. It's only shown every year when we play Ole Miss and usually posted on the Rant multiple times each year.

If you're trying to make the simple point that PBP jobs don't come up often and you want to use LSU as an example, you google voice of the tigers and get a ton of stuff about Blair and Hawthorne. Search a little more and you get Ferguson and links that talk about him starting in 1946 and going to 1987. So you take that info to the rant. Seems reasonable for the younger guys. It's not like the Cannon play contains audio claiming who the PBP guy is. I'm sure plenty out there assumed it was Ferguson.
You think it's some "GOTCHA!!! HAHAHA". But most posters here weren't alive before 1987. Was Choup wrong? Sure. But it didn't change the validity of his point. 2 announcers or 4 announcers through 70 years is still crazy small turnover.
But, of course, you have to be you and now he'll never live it down. Every post of his that you disagree with, you'll downvote and bring this up. It's so sad.

It's pretty amazing how terrible he can be. There isn't a poster on TD worse about sitting around waiting for a misspelled word, grammatical error, or incorrect fact and turning that into a centerpiece for an argument. Mostly it's because his argument and debate skills are incredibly shitty so every debate turns into a fight about a misspelling.
