Well, they definitely did well enough to neutralize that experience disadvantage.

Yeah, the OL was good enough that with a conservative game plan they could put up enough production to win IF the defense held Clemson to a low point total.

I don’t know how good Clemson’s front seven is. If they are as good as Dabo, and the commentariat, say they are then I think the OL did passably well. But it was our weakest unit on Saturday, and it will have to do better later in the year.

Dude the entire game plan was to hide the offensive line. We’ve never thrown that many screens and short passes in a game before.

It Looked to me as if the offensive game plan was to have a quick passing game and a confusing running game. Which is the correct game plan against a team with a great defensive line and linebackers. I am not a Kelly fan but his game plan looked spot on to me against Clemson!

The difference is the center position. I’ve stated that multiple times on here as to why they struggled last season especially after Dellinger was injured. Chester was clearly the weak link.
Deke from the Saints broadcast used to say - “if you want to ruin your season, lose your center.” or something to that effect.
You lose both guards and have Chester at center is how UF gets 7 sacks.
It was comical.

Agreed. They hid our weakest unit and neutralized Clemson’s best unit at the same time. It was a great plan.

BK said what exactly?

I found the quote

quote:

"Yeah, I mean, look, I've coached for a long time. I've got a lot of guys in the NFL, a lot of first-round draft picks. I think I've got a pretty good eye for what an offensive line looks like. This group is going to be really good," Kelly said.

That is one hell of a sweet contract.

I think the grade on Chester is way too generous. Go back and watch him in when he comes in for Adams at LT - also why the hell is he the backup LT? That is scary as hell to think about.
We need a solution at LT2, and it def isn't Chester. I watched him when Adams left the game, and it was absurd. The 1st play the DE went around him with zero contact or blocking. The 2nd play we sent a second player (I think a TE) to help him block the pass rusher.

Yeah I hope some of you go back and watch when Chester came in for those 4 plays for Adams. It was absolutely scary. I mean, he wasnt even close to doing an average job on 3/4 of those plays. Like I said previously, the only play he wasnt a liability i think we got rid of the ball very quickly (maybe screen type play IIRC).

Chester can not play LT, heck, it doesnt appear he can play any position. Not saying he's a total lost cause but it's to imagine how he's getting much playting time moving forward.

Also we are BEYOND screwed if Adams went down this year looks like.
