bill busch did a great job getting Joe here.

yes he did and once here it was great that O extended a scholly and handed him the keys to the program. It was glorious.

quote:

People are pissed O tanked the program to dead last finish in the sec west and being a complete buffoon the last two years making kelly clean up all his messes

Yes he did. It was arguably the worst turn around for the bad in sports history and he should have been fired for cause and possibly not paid the buyout.

But to refuse to acknowledge anything good the guy did in 2018 and 2019 is lunacy and rates right up there with the mentality of the Trump haters.

As is the OP. I still don’t really know what this thread is about besides another reason to shite on on O. Not that we needed another one of those, but what reason is this thread specifically alluding to?

Example(s)?

Welcomed BLM and left wing politics to the Athletic Department losing multiple donors and fans.

Signed O to a huge extension when not necessary.

Signed Bo to a massive contract when not necessary.

Allowed the implementation of the vax card BS at Tiger Stadium.

Signed the two coordinators after Bo to huge contracts when not necessary.

Has recently signed assistant coaches to deals 2 to 3X above market value.

Has spent more and accomplished less than any AD in the history of the NCAA.

Eventually he has to have some success somewhere we just need to wait and see where and what it is.

Woodward has done more to damage LSU athletics than anyone in recent memory. He has run off many long time LSU contributors by injecting leftist politics into LSU athletics.

Wait. So the AD hired his own boss?

That’s not how it works. Sounds like there are still a bunch of Rosy Finch boys still around.

It goes back farther than Orgeron. There is one in Minden that is a snot slinging wealthy jet owner that broke off ties with LSU during the Miles era.

As many as his new, overpaid extension allowed him.

Who gave him that extension anyway?

He said that Coach O and Derek Ponamsky ruined a lot of those relationships

Those 2 gone from the program should be all that was needed. CBK should not have to repair a relationship that O effed up.

Dave Aranda was the defense.

Dave Aranda brought in bill Busch

Bill Busch brought in Joe Burrow.

Joe burrow was the offense.

Dave Aranda is responsible for 2018 and 2019.

Now look at what the team was without Aranda.

Every school in the country did this, and it was likely out of Woodward’s hands whether or not to allow it.

I could be wrong but I believe it was written into his contract as incentive for winning the NC.

I’ll give you this one, dumb move. However, some blame needs to be laid as the feet of O. Woodward allowed O to make his own hires and O hung himself.

Woodward likely didn’t have a choice in the matter, blame goes to local and state gov.

Neither was making what top coordinators make, he had to pay them something.

Which ones? Wilson? Hankton? Davis? They are 3 of our top recruiters and their salaries are not 2 or 3x above market value.

Dave Aranda

Dave Aranda is amazing and I believe should have been on a very short list of candidates.

I like how recruiting staff doing their jobs and bringing in players has nothing to do with the HC anymore.

I'm guessing no other head coach, Saban, Kirby or other get credit for recruiting classes these days? Only the position coach that brings a player to the table is responsible for players?

Firing O for the boneheadedness after 2019 is one thing, refusing to acknowledge anything good about him in 2018 and 2019 is pure derangement syndrome.

Negative, LSU lead the way and was further out there than even the Left Coach and Ivy League schools.

Negative the AD at LSU has a lot of juice. He wanted it and pushed for it.

Agree, but quadrupling a salary to get a coordinator with no other option is not smart finances by an acclaimed great AD.

What does that have to do with the simple acknowledgment of the successes of 2018 and 2019?

A coach responsible for the success of the 2019 season should be able to have at least one winning season with the talent on the 2020 and 2021 roster.

Not arguing that O shouldn't have been fired and wasn't a dumpster fire in 2020 and 2021. He absolutely was worse than anyone could have imagined.

I'm just openly acknowledging that 2019 was glorious, the greatest season in the history of NCAA football, and O had something to do with that success.

The hate for the guy is incredible. When I remember O, I will remember 2019 and I believe it would not have happened without him.
