He said that Brian Kelly has a lot of relationships to work on with boosters who used to step up for key players. He said that Coach O and Derek Ponamsky ruined a lot of those relationships. Brian Kelly had a big mess to clean up on and off the field but I’m glad that he is the one to do it. Once he can fix those issues with the big time money people, we still have a ways to go but we will be better going forward NIL wise.

I mean O was threatening boosters on fishing trips, etc. I think, in the long run, it'll be fine but Kelly has to show he can lead the program (which he has proven he can do at his previous stops).

I’ve posted that big time boosters have sat on their hands with this NIL thing, and it was because of O and the massive payout he got. People don’t want to hear it, but that’s the truth.
It’s going to take some time to build back those relationships and get Kelly’s system going.

Woodward has done more to damage LSU athletics than anyone in recent memory. He has run off many long time LSU contributors by injecting leftist politics into LSU athletics.

Honestly, I don’t think it will take that long for most of the boosters. I have no doubt there is damage to repair, though.
We can already see the change in approach and the far more professional foundation and structure that Kelly is rebuilding the program on. The difference is night and day.
Some boosters are going to need more proof than others, but I think Kelly’s approach is the perfect thing to win back guys that were put off by O and his bullshite. Amateur hour is over and they are all going to see that and want to be a part of the bounce back.
