Munch, I would help you if I could, but I'm not in the area. Hopefully, someone on the rant might be more of a help. I just wanted to post the information because ranters were asking about the rumors of Billy Cannon signing autographs.

Figures that it would be in S'port...I mean seriously, is there any justifiable reason to for people to venture north of 1-10 in this state????

I'd be willing to make a really nice and unique montage for anyone going, if they'd get one of them signed for me...I may even have enough time if I started now to do it in the same style technique as to imitate Jack Jaubert. In the off-chance someone's interested email me at the address below.

Amazing how Billy Cannon is still so revered with the crimal record he has as well as serving jail time. I certainly would not let any child of mine get his autograph. He is a thug!!! He is an embarassment to this university. Its seems like character should count for something.

He paid his debt to society. He's been out for 22 years now.

I hope no child of yours ever does anything stupid, since it's obvious you don't know how to forgive.

Agree. He did something foolish and embarrassed himself and his university, but he also brought a lot of positive attention to the university in his lifetime, so let's move on. His screw up was just more public than most of ours.

no doubt he has. btw, i'm visiting some relatives in n.la this weekend and went over to Reeves Marine this a.m. obviously i don't know Cannon personally, but he seems to be a genuinely nice guy. we talked a bit, and you could sense how much LSU means to him.

met Bert Jones. he's still got his lumber business in Simsboro. i had forgotten that his first cousin was Andy Hamilton. he talked about Andy for a minute. Jones talked about one of his bros. to a guy in front of me. one of his bros. flew out of England AFB for a while, i think. flew A7's... also had a couple of tours w/the Thunderbirds.

also got to meet Jack Jaubert (#50). learned that he was an all-state hs player, before coming to LSU.

oh yeah, one of the funny stories i heard today was non-football related. a guy right behind me in line went to school during the time of Jones, Jaubert, and Maravich.

he said Pete had this worn out Volkswagen with a shot muffler. anyway, apparently Pete was known around campus to have a lead-foot behind the wheel. he said it was somewhat common to hear/see Pete blazing through campus. with the campus Po-Po in hot pursuit.
