I can't believe there are actually 18 dumbasses down voting this. If you don't consider Arkansas as an inferior opponent then you should probably cheer at ballets

I think they are down voting you bitching about the down voting.

Maybe because Bill Walsh had Joe Montana playing QB. And he last coached over 20 years ago. And while he was losing at Stanford, Nebraska was still running the option over everyone's arse. And the teams playing for national championships lately still heavily rely on running the ball.

What civil human being wouldn't cheer a ballet?

So your point was that geniuses like the ballet? Probably true for the most part.

FWIW....that's also the Nick Saban philosophy of football
He has always had an accurate passer and usually only starts QBs in their 3rd year at the earliest. LSU has started or has had to start a freshman or true sophomore at QB in 2008, 2009, 2014, and 2015. That's also 4 different young QBs, not a guy starting as a true freshman all year then true sophomore all year. In one of those years we had zero experienced pass catchers, another year we had no run game and the worst LSU OL this century by far, and the other 2 years we had two of the worst LSU defenses this century.
The last starting QB that Saban has had at Bama that threw for under 61% was John Parker Wilson back in 08. There has only been one backup QB that has thrown for under 62% and that was Blake Sims going 5-10 in his first year transitioning from being a running back.
They've completed at least 64.3% of their passes every year for the past 6 years. They've gone over 3000 passing 5 of the last 6 years (including the last 4 years). They've also thrown at least 20 TD passes the last 4 years (inclusing at least 30 TDs each from 2012-2014).
The main difference between LSU and Bama on offense has been the QB play. They get accurate QBs and put them in a successful system and they don't start until they are in their 3rd years. Most would consider Bama's offense boring, but it is very efficient year in year out. Plug in a QB, plug in a new 5 star RB, plug In a new dynamic #1 WR and keep consistent great OL play.

I dispute that that describes LSU.
i dispute that LSU is anything but that

Matt Flynn and Mauk were perfect for the system. Why they aren't recruiting that type of game manager play style is beyond me.
Mauck*, and he slinged the ball. Lots of touchdowns and lots of turnovers

.it amazes me you guys post this shite as if he has never sniffed a nc game...let alone twice.
He won a NC 8 years ago but his team didn't even get off the bus 4 years ago. I hope the game hasn't passed him by. Go Tigers.

While I agree with that second part.....
Miles should be given credit for getting to that game in 4 years.
Very few coaches ever get back to that game. Miles, Saban, Meyer.
That's all I can think of that have done it. Coaches that are currently coaching.

You have to adapt to the team you are playing. It's not about teams being inferior. Teams are just different. We have to play to our strengths and while adjusting to attack the opposing teams weaknesses. All teams have weaknesses.

In the Rant's never-ending quest to bash the program daily, we now are consistently losing to "inferior" opponents.
The only "inferior" opponent you can make an argument we lost to this year was Ark.
Based on this logic, Bama, who has far and away superior talent to anyone in CFB, is losing to an inferior opponent every year. Since their losses don't count, it makes the Saban worship easier.
PS - I realize Saban has "adapted" somewhat the past two seasons, as many here say. The philosophy is still pretty damn close to Miles'.

that doesn't apply to LSU. I can't recall miles losing to inferior opponents. it's just that we lose to teams as good or better than us.
This is correct, when Miles can line up better talent then the other team, he does well.
But When the other team is equal or better, and coaching matters, not so much.
Any avg. coach can do this.

Lot of people just don't get how significant of an impact it would make to be able to hit that 5-10 yard pass in stride...with the athletes LSU has. Instead they have to reach behind, go to the ground, or leave their feet to make this catch....which usually blows the play up before it even has a chance. I don't even remember what game, but I remember LF making a juggling swing pass catch and turned it into a huge play....padding the qb stats after a shitty throw. I also remember him getting hurt on a similar play, in the same game dural and Diasre got hurt from bad throws.

Agreed...until we start recruiting kids with high football IQ along with the athleticism to get the ball into the playmakers' hands we will continue to struggle. If we had that TT QB I believe we would be playing in Glendale this weekend.

Than why aren't they?
Miles is no average coach. He's an excellent coach. There is certainly a gap between Urban and Saban on the one side and Miles on the other. Besides that, there are no coaches in college who are clearly better. In any given year there are a couple of fan-darlings, but they fade over time. Sumlin was one. Jimbo is fading even now. Mullen was one. The Florida coach flirted with it this year. Kelly, who never won a championship, was one - maybe still is.

What about Arkansas and Ole Miss? Are we less talented?
Both could pass the ball successfully, but despite having great receivers, we could not.
