I have a feeling boosters w money will want a say and it will turn into a disaster
They will have zero say. LSU athletics is a machine and TAF President CEO is a professional who was brought in to successfully navigate the hundreds of millions of dollars coming in. These two entities will make the decision based mostly on analytics, availability, fit, and economics.
Donors are stockholders, they are along for the ride. They can voice opinions, but have little pull.

Who does Jeff Landry want? If reports from yesterday are to be believed, it was Landry who called together the BOS and okayed the firing.
If true, I'd say that Landry, by default, breaks any tie or dissension between board members and/or Scott Woodward.

If Kliff Kingsbury couldn’t succeed at Texas Tech, what makes you think he will succeed at LSU? Sure he’s an offensive wizard, and has revived his career again as an OC, but that’s the extent of it. Kingsbury consistently fielded the worst defenses in the country during his time at Texas Tech.
Same reason I think Lane can be successful here despite not being successful at Tennessee, USC, or the Raiders.
I am not saying he'd be a top candidate. But he is an interesting candidate. I

Aside from Joe Brady and Saban, I don't think we've had one single former NFL hire be successful at LSU.
Coach O coached in the NFL and won a championship here.

If you make a big decision to do a $53M buyout then you have to make a big splash hire. Makes zero sense to do a $53M buyout to prioritize a G5 coach. They need to go after big fish first.
I would argue that needing to “make a big splash” is what got us Kelly.

Nobody’s had much success at LSU outside of Saban, Miles, and Orgeron that one season. Silly point.
Fail
How about Doc Fenton, Paul Dietzel, and Charles McClendon? Thanks for playing. Please try again.
