This won't be the biggest win or the 2nd biggest win of Miles' LSU tenure. His biggest win was the BCSCG win over Ohio State, without question. And his 2nd biggest win was the SECCG over Tennessee. This really isn't debatable. This game is played for championships, so games in which the winner receives a championship trophy are >>>>>>>>> any other games.
If LSU beats Bama this weekend, it would be on par with the Florida win in 2007 and the UGA win in 2003 if LSU goes on to play in the SEC Championship Game this year.

Yeah, I think beating the number one team in the BCS Championship is bigger than beating Alabama in Tuscaloosa. How many times have we beaten Alabama in Tuscaloosa? How many National Championships?

Look, a big win is not simply a big win because it has a huge label.
By your standards, beating Georgia Tech in the Chik-Fil-A bowl is a bigger win than this weekend would be. That's hardly the case.

You don't get to championship games without winning games like this.

"OHIO STATE SUCKS arse"
Back-handed "compliment" to LSU as far as I'm concerned. tOSU was the only team w/ 1-loss going into the bowls that year.

Meh, by default. Everyone and their dog picked us to win that game big

Very true, but the championship games are still bigger and winning them is bigger than winning the games that get you there.
And your post about GT in the Chick-fil-a Bowl being a bigger win than this week's game is a retarded comparison. No one here would argue that last year's bowl win was a bigger win than any conference game we've won this year.

So you think beating Ohio State when we were a 2 loss team lucky to be in the BCS Championship Game in a proverbial home game is more impressive than travelling to Tuscaloosa and beating a team that is undefeated and has been ranked No. 1 at one point in time this year?
I'm a Bama fan and this just makes no sense at all to me. The biggest goal any college football program can strive for is the chance to play in the Championship game. To be able to not only play in the game, but to win it means your team is the best. Nothing tops that, IMO.
If LSU beats us on Saturday, that just means that your team is better than my team on that day.

it depends on how you define a "big" win but I'd be far more impressed with a win over bama with this team than a win over blowhio state with the 07 team.

The impressiveness of a win is a completely different argument than the one being discussed here.

Won't Bama also "suck" if we beat them?

Sans the BCSCG over OSU, and SECCG over Tenn, yes this is the biggest one of the Miles at LSU era..
As also of importance were his 2007 and 2008 games vs Bama and Saban. This game vs Bama/Miles, will always be very important in coming years, whether it is a defacto Western Div CG, or even should one team trail by 2 games and be out of the running.
Miles vs Saban will remain of importance to each HC and Program, even in years where the other team may already have the division under wraps, and the other just playing for pride, prestige, and recruiting leverages.

It doesnt matter who the opponent was. The championship game by definition is the "biggest". This win would rank up there with Florida 2007. Hell, I think the bowl wins were pretty big too.

That Ohio State game in New Orleans a couple years ago was pretty big.

If we pull it off this weekend.
What say you?
Biggest wins were:
vs. Bama in '07
SECCG
NCG
vs. UF in '07
vs. Tenn. in '06

In this order?

Let's project into next year.....would you rather a win the BCS CG or a win at UF (lets assume UF is #1 at the time)?
The biggest game in any sport is THAT sports championship game.
Now, we can argue "toughest opponent", etc. But, there is no rational way to suggest a CG is not the biggest of the year.
