Hill is incredibly underrated on this board. His last season at LSU he averaged 6.9 yards per carry. The guy was breaking off 50 yarders every saturday.

Although my choice is Kevin Faulk v. Houston, I'm going to throw out Dalton Hilliard v. Alabama in 1982. Not only was it a great performance, it was a great performance in a watershed game for the LSU football program.

As for the topic of the thread. I don't know about whole game, but hill v. Auburn last year has to be the best start. His first half was insanity that night.

He had 120 yards rushing 5 minutes into the 2nd quarter. He was beast mode that day.

Mealey vs Notre dame in 1997 independence bowl...

34 carries for 222 yards and 2 touchdowns on the night for Mealey, including 78 and 31-yarders to set up two fourth quarter touchdowns. It was the story of the game, but in hindsight, we can say that for all Mealey's talent, he was a backup for a reason

No fault of Cecil's, but we did lose the game. Faulk won against Rice.

Cecil vs Auburn. Cecil would have been right with or above Beau and Hershel. He reminded me of Earl Cambell. LF is the best back at LSU since Cecil.

Another great performance. I think a better wording for LF would be the most talented back at LSU since Cecil. While I expect him to be the best ever at LSU, he's only one year in - albeit a very good one

Charles Scott's first half vs Kentucky in 2007 and Fournette's first half verses Notre Dame this year.

We are talking GREATEST games by an LSU back...Those two games don't come close. Sorry.

Kevin Faulk versus Houston, 1996. This. It was perhaps the greatest 20 minutes ever by any running back in college football. He literally won that game all by himself.

Super performance. I would rate Alexander's '77 performance against Oregon as number two. Charlie must have broken about 40 tackles that night, picking up 237 yards, mostly against 8 and 9 man fronts. I'd put Broussard's game against OM at number at number 3, Vincent's UGA game at number 4 and Hill's Iowa performance at number 5.

Agree with the majority-Faulk against Houston.
Another memorable one-Diesel at Miss State-rushed for 172

Nothing to compete with as far as this ONE game went...I will never forget the headline on the sports section that Sunday..It was pretty simple and ON POINT.

"RUNNING BACK"

Agree 1000%. The punt return was epic. He signaled for the ball and the entire stadium KNEW he was taking it to the house. All eyes on 3!
