Fire/don't fire either way real problem is all these sources spilling info to press. How does it help for the ESPN lead to be buyout of CLM contract very likely. Make the decision and then hold a press conference appropriately after the A&M game. Really, what if they circle the wagons and dominate ...
tulane still has a baseball team?...

Agree with the majority-Faulk against Houston. Another memorable one-Diesel at Miss State-rushed for 172 ...

re: Cracking the Top 25

SEC is not as bad as everyone thinks, but what making such a negative impression is that there is not a top 10 quality SEC team as in past years and no real star players this year. I would be willing to bet that if SEC can get at least 4 teams in a couple will make sweet 16....
Heard he did not enroll - maybe didn't qualify. The year off would have hurt him, but as we saw from last year you can never have enough dbs....

Baker will play a big role whether he starts or not. Riley and Shepherd are solid. Cutrera is experienced, although not great playmaker. If no injuries LB position will be ok next year....

re: Mauck/Flynn

Maybe we could have all saved some time had he just said they were his favorite QBs. No insult to Mauch or Flynn who played key roles in the NCs, but those were NC teams with great defenses, good RBs, good OL, etc. There are several QBs that were better (JR, Bert Jones, YA Title, Tommy Hodson, Roh...

re: NCAA Big Dance Projections - LSU

All that is still up in the air. No doubt that if we win West and a game in conf tourn we will be a 7 or better. Generally such a finish would mean a higher seed....
That is a great all-time 5, but really the Pistol, Chris Jackson, and Shaq - Shaq would never see the ball. You can't really compare players from different eras - for example, how would Bob Petit do playing an up tempo team like UNC could put together....

re: Can Trindon make it in the NFL?

Posted by BCTiger on 1/13/09 at 10:38 am
Nothing against Trindon, but no. Trindon is a great athlete, but only sees limited time in running gimmick plays and some returns. It is ignorant to even compare him to Sproles. Aside from size difference, Sproles was a true running back at KState and I would bet had at least 10 times more touches...

re: Sean Glennon

So Glennon's a 2nd string D1 QB that is something to be ashamed of? Plenty around that aren't and wish they were....
Would have added to SEC's strong showing in bowls, but its bama so who cares....
Marve transfer here would only hurt. JJ has shown he can do the job, and with 2 qb recruits coming in and hatch we are set for next couple years. Marve just looks like an attitude guy to me....

re: Ridge Turner from South Plaquemines

Not so fast. SPHS runs a more diverse offense, and Ridge Turner, Lyle Fitte, and Bradley Sylve can match speed with anyone on those Evangel teams. Plus the SPHS is not just flashy, although they are not that big overall, SP is a tough, physical team....

Evangel claims 1994 championship, but if i'm wrong i apologize. Obviously, 1994 Haynsville would not have scored 24 points on SPHS....

re: Ridge Turner from South Plaquemines

This is getting dumb, but what the hell - my prediction: 2008 SPHS 43 1994 Evangel 24 SPHS 224 Yds total off (116 rushing and 108 passing) and 118 return yards Evangel 136 Yds total off (109 passing and 27 rushing)...

Sure there are more bad 1A teams than in the larger divisions, that is any and every year. Also the 1A teams in SP's district are garbage, and were garbage pre-Katrina as well. But I went to several SP playoff games, and the teams they beat up on (Block, CLA, and especially Haynesville) would have...

Hey obviously you cannot be convinced, but maybe you should get tape of their overtime win over Hahnville the week after Gustav when they made the trip with about half of their players and no practice and beat a 5A playoff team. I don't think many pre-Katrina 1A teams were playing, much less beatin...
