Family is driving this year. Just wondering if I can get any help on the best way to go. Would prefer mostly interstate if possible. We will be stopping at some point to stay the night so we will need a good stopping point for that. TIA

It might be helpful if you'd tell us where you're starting from....

I'm leaving Baton Rouge around 5am Friday morning and have a hotel room in Kansas City Friday night. I'm thinking I'll get there around 6-7pm, rest for the night, then drive the remaining 3 hours to Omaha Saturday morning.

In that case I have no idea. If you need to know how to drive to Omaha from Des Moines, Iowa, I'm your guy!

55 to St. Louis, 70 to Kansas City, then 29 to Omaha

Waze it. You'll move up your rank in 1 day too.

Don't cut through Oxford...you'll never find your way to Omaha if you pass through there

That was morally wrong. You should feel bad

Best route having made the trip to KC many times from Louisiana is to take 49 all the way to KC. There's a few sections in Arkansas where they haven't finished the interstate (or at least last time I went that way), but other than that it's interstate all the way and a straight shot. From KC, I think it's 29 or something to Omaha.

We drove that route 5 times. My driveway to the hotel on Grover 16 1/2 hours going and back. Every time stopping only for a bite to eat and gas. 1142 miles.

I found this to be the best way. All interstate. No problems.
Going up, spent the night in STL.
Coming back, left Omaha 8am, made it back 2:30 am
In 2009, Got a few honks and congrats waves from TN/AR fans outside of Memphis.
