People misuse that term so much... being a 'blueblood' means you're old money, a member of the aristocracy due to lineage.
LSU really isn't one, when it comes down to it- we ascended in the late 80's. But we did so just as ESPN began to televise the CWS, so LSU gets lumped into that term, because we were good/great just as awareness rose.
USC, Texas, Miami, Florida State, Stanford, Arizona State would be locks.
Wichita State and Cal St Fullerton are marginal; they rose to power in the 70's/80's, and each won multiple titles. 4 for Fullerton and 3 for Wichita State. But now that the bigger conferences as a whole take baseball seriously, they've both fallen off.

Good topic that would be fun to hijack for more discussion.
Is there a more premier college baseball program than LSU? If so, is LSU not at least arguably the premier college baseball program?
I know teams like USC have the most championships but haven’t done it in decades, teams like FSU have the consistency but have never won a title and teams like Texas have been just as successful, but are any more influential and bigger programs than LSU in collegiate baseball? Fan support is a separator among these programs where LSU would get the nod if relevant to the discussion.

college baseball is a tough sport to win a title in. FSU was in the tournament 45 straight years and never could do it. When you factor in everything it seems like Texas would have to be considered #1 with the all time winningest record and still being relevant today, but even so they have only 2 national titles in the last 40 years.

Way to do exactly what you claim others do.
It simply refers to member of a family with a high social status or nobility. Not the tenure or "old money". LSU is the definition of status in college baseball

I think people have no clue what Blue bloods actually are! Any program or team that elevates a sport is a blue blood. It is not just for those that where around when the sport was invented
The term Blue Blood actually means a person of noble birth or a comforting figure among blue bloods. LSU has certainly fit the later

NIL is going to make programs like that fade. Just a fact of life. Schools like LSU will be able to cherry pick now from rosters like they did Skenes because they can just offer more money through NIL. Limitations on scholarships also no longer matter in baseball due to NIL.

Haha, no.
Two titles - 87,88.
They are not a “blue blood”… first CWS appearance was in the 50s and couldn’t kick the door in for over 30 years.

Stanford has been making the CWS since the 50's.
They are definitely a blue blood.

If you include CSF then Long Beach State should be to

That's the definition of blue blood
They don't need tons of titles to be a blue blood. How many does Texas have? Like 6 and I believe they use to be the highest.

Are you really comparing Stanford to a team that hasn't made a CWS appearance since 1948?
You are actually retarded.

Who in the flying frick said LSU isn't a blue blood? Dumbass.
Stanford has been a model of consistency they're a blue blood. It's the same thing in football. Oklahoma has struggled to win a championship in like 20+ years but they're still a blue blood due to how consistently great they are always on the cusp of winning it all.
