finished 2nd in the conference behind only a Rupp Kentucky team and, like you freely admit, they won more games even though Pete had a good bit less talent around him than Simmons. Neither had a coach but Simmons had Blakeney and Victor. Pete was out there 5 on 1.
When you're the consensus #1 player in the country and you have a few other good players on your team and you don't even make the tournament you're going to face criticism, that's just reality. Pete lived in a different era, had worse support, and I also wasn't around to see him play so i didn't have a personal experience like the MASSIVE disappointment that was the 2015-16 LSU basketball team. Ben Simmons is the star player, ergo it's on him. That's how it works in basketball like it or not.

I wasn't around to see those games personally so I can't really say.
I was around to see the Simmons year and yeah he was a shitty tiger and leader.

really? I should just throw opinions out willy nilly about teams who played over a decade before i was born?

it is but there is still context involved. If Simmons didn't have Victor or Antonio I would probably give him more of a pass. From what I understand Pete didn't have any teammates as good as those guys but i wasn't there so it's hard for me to say.

like i said, i wasn't there for Pete so I can't say. maybe he was a shitty leader too.
that you're suggesting i should give props to a guy who showed up on campus for a few months amid massive hype and proceeded to do frick all here while not even pretending to give a shite defies all logic.

I'd check that crystal ball on ben mr soothsayer. I love shaq, and ben has MILES to go before he accomplishes what shaq did. But this guy is a young magic. The sky is the limit for what he might accomplish, and then VIRTUALLY EVERY top hs player will see that LSU can be the place to be. They won't know or care about the specifics of his time here.

That is why I keep calling you ignorant. Because you are
19 pts/game--56%----12 rebs---5 asst per game
You are calling that doing frick all and not trying
That my friend, is what defies all logic.....

Okay so explain to me exactly what I, as an LSU fan, should be appreciative of.
a 19 point/12 board average? Oh boy! exciting stuff!

Never said you had to be appreciative
I will just call you ignorant for saying he did fuxk all when he averaged 19pts---56%---12rebs--5asst on his way to becoming the only player in sec history to be top5 in all categories
That my friend is ignorance or incompetence

So he had a healthy Victor the entire year? And blakeney was either hot or cold very streaky. But the real problem with that team was horrid coaching but let's just gloss over that as if it wasn't a big deal. Simmons was a beast and he is only getting better now that he has some decent coaching.
