and top 10 football program resources.

Lol what? The sec is a 14 team league. All but like one or two teams go all out for football. We all get the same piece of the pie.

Recently LSU hasn't even been close to spending as much as places like tOSU, bama and Michigan have.

I can just as easily take that in the other direction and say that the fans who are willing to accept less than excellence do so because they're not ambitious and are used to settling for less in their own lives.

Not really because your view of excellence is an opinion, which doesn't make sense from my view point because being a top program is excellence, so being a top program is settling for less? No but nice try.

Try comparing the salaries of LSU's assistant coaches to those of other SEC schools.

Do some research before you spew such jibberish.

Are you actually this stupid? We're one of 2 teams in the country (us and Ohio State) which has a top 5 NFL-talent-per-capita recruiting base and no other major schools in the state to compete with, we have possibly the best venue in the country, we're a top 10 revenue generating program, we're the 4th winningest program in the country since 2000, we've won national championships and SEC championships since 2000, do I need to keep going?

In what measurable metric are we not top 10 exactly? Do you honestly know so little about sports that saying we're a top 10 program regarding resources for success seems outlandish to you?

You really are one of the worst posters on here. If you were coach we would likely look like Southern.

No trophies for participation wanted. Win it all or go home. Losing is for Ole Miss.

You look at the average final rankings of all teams over the last 10-15 years...Lsu is without a doubt in the top 10 if you look at it objectively with data compared to other schools....but we have a lot of kids on here that don't quite understand that logic, or any logic for that matter.

I agree completely. But the last 3 or so years we have slipped. I lived through the late 80's & 90's when LSU was just eeesh. Don't want to go through that again.

Must be some miserable frickers who cant enjoy being one of four programs with two NCs and top four in wins since 2000.

Mediocrity is the negative clowns who piss and cry continually over some damn sweet success.

Our competition isn't all 128 teams. We have better recruiting, facilities, and financial support than probably 90% of those teams.

So our real competition are the top 4 teams in the SEC and the top 15-20 in the nation.

And when we finish 15th? Yes, that's mediocre.

Last 4 years, 13-11 against the SEC West. That's not mediocre?

I for one appreciate that LSU is a part of the conversation for who will become national champions in football, baseball and numerous other sports almost every year!

As a fan that is the best one can reasonably hope for.

Do I want Championships?

HeLl yes!

Will I behave like a petulant child if that goal is not achieved?

I hope not!

But is nice to be in the conversation year in and year out.

If that is mediocrity to some....
