Little did he know his journey was just beginning. In the summer of 2019, Williams walked on to the LSU football team. Football was always the sport he was best at and LSU was always the dream school for Williams, who wound up being on the scout team during the Tigers’ run to a national championship.

LSU running back Josh Williams has a love of sports that’s taken him across the globe.
Growing up in Houston, it wasn’t just football that was the primary sport Wlliams played. In fact Williams said his first loves were on the basketball court and baseball diamond. He participated in the AAU and various Adidas circuits in basketball throughout his high school career.
But most impressive was the opportunity of a lifetime to travel to China to take on some high school and professional level players the summer before his freshman year of high school. Also on that trip were NBA legends Hakeem Olajuwon and Clyde Drexler, as well as future NBA point guard De’Aaron Fox.

I was looking at his recruiting profile after he scored that TD vs moo st. Two star recruit with offers from schools such as Colorado State Pueblo, dayton, and Drake. Great story. Is he still a walk on or did he get put on scholarship?

Pretty sure on scholarship now. I love Josh Williams. Dude gives you 100%, 100% of the time

He’s been on scholarship for 2 or 3 years now.
I think he’s the second best back on the team behind Goodwin. People get so stuck on the former walk on thing.

LSU should never have a walk on as the featured RB.

100% can verify some dumbasses at OU said the same thing about Baker Mayfield.
Before posting shite, what you need to realize is that he isn’t featured. He is a part of a RB group. And he has earned that spot through years of work.
So SHUT THE frick UP!!

First off, he's not the number 1 back.
Secondly, if he's badass, who gives a shite? Dumbass take.

That safety for state agrees with you.

I’ve said this before but i believe he was truly just a guy that flew under the radar with injuries and not focusing on football.
His dad played RB in the NFL for 5 years.
His younger brother is suiting up for Texas A&M basketball as a freshman PG this year. He has the bloodlines but some “fans” can’t get over the fact that he was once a walk-on

Tell that to Clay Matthews, JJ Watt, and Baker Mayfield

He’s our best running back. Change my mind

I'm just going to assume this was a troll response. Otherwise, it would be, quite possibly, the most ridiculous and downright STUPID take you could derive from this story.
Funny troll post, Tyga. Good job.

If you have watched J Williams play football for LSU and cannot appreciate what he brings to the program, then I don't know how anyone can convince you that he is a very important part of this team. I will wonder though, who ties your shoes
