Me.

It really creates no momentum for the 2020 or beyond seasons.

It will garner ridicule.
me too, and i’ve posted that before.

This is just an effort to goose our number of championships, and it’s primarily because Bama does it.

We’re coming off one of the best seasons in college football history. Let’s not dilute that by chasing numbers from 112 years ago.

LSU would have gotten destroyed by Harvard and Penn. It wouldn't have been close.

Dude WTF? No disrespect to your grandfather, but this is way off base. LSU in 1908 was a product of the game spreading to other regions of the country. The Midwest was first, and Michigan had the first "point-a-minute" team in 1901 (a nickname the 1908 LSU team applied to itself). Thing is ... Michigan routinely lost to the Ivies when they played. They could win against inferior competition in the 'Western' conference but not when matched up against the best teams from the best league. LSU? We played in the SIAA. It was the Sun Belt of its day. LSU would have gotten destroyed by Harvard and Penn. It wouldn't have been close.

LSU is only interested in titles after 1906 when NCAA was established.

You are entitled to your Ivy League opinion of 1908 Penn 11-0-1 and Harvard 9-0-1 (both had a tie) being better teams.

The NCAA does not share your opinion. NCAA has awarded both Penn and LSU the title of Co-National Champion.

Those who saw both teams play were amazed by Doc Fenton (led nation in scoring with 125 points) and those who saw both Fenton and Thorpe play would not say Thorpe (to come a few years later) was better than Fenton.

Penn outscored opponents 225 to 28.
LSU scored 442 (almost doubling Penn) and allowed 1 five-point TD in the whole season.

This argument is like who’s champ if Covid-19 stopped the LSU Clemson game and it was never played.

That argument would go on forever!

You argue that LSU opposition was easier. They nearly doubled Penn’s 225 points!

1908 LSU National Champion

Fkn Green Wave and Grantland Rice tried to steal it from us.

They can all STTDB

Honestly, I don't respect anything prior to the AP era. The BCS era were the first kinda champions. The playoffs are the only real championships.
