You mean the guy that took Tulane's offense and made it the best in the land...same guy that was putting 60 on everybody at West Virginia ..the guy that also has the #5 ranked team this year and just beat Oregon...yeah that guy!

Auburn: Malzahn looks good, but Miles won a MNC in his third year, so if he doesn't win it this year, he's behind Mile's trajectory. At least use the same criteria when evaluating these guys that you do Miles.

This is Malzahn's second year (crazy, right). In his first year, he went 11-1, won a conference title, and made it to the BCSNCG. He's 17-1 outside the bowl game.

Miss St: This is Mullin's first exceptional year. He was semi-on the hot seat before this season, and he'll be back to middle of the pack when his senior laden team graduates.

Hot seat? MSU has made several consecutive bowl games and was for all intents and purposes the big brother program in Mississippi. This is MSU. Their goals aren't that lofty. He has them in a place place they've been once or twice in history.

Ole Miss: Again, very early in his tenure. Let's see if he can stay off probation and if Ole Miss can keep him when wealthier programs come calling.

Still a good coach. I imagine he and Mullins will both be poached sooner rather than later, but that doesn' tmean they weren't great hires in the first place.

And to add, I'm sick of everyone pointing to the 90s when taking up for Les. Get the frick over it. Every program has a point in time that they can point to and say "see how bad we were back then?"

Have an upvote. Makes no sense in any scenario in life that I can think of. "Sure, this (marriage, company, team, whatever) is going down the drain, but now's not the time to point out that there may be a problem. After all, remember we were shitty before."

What the hell kind of reasoning is that?

posted this in another thread, but since this one seems more active...

If it's not this year, don't sleep on Mike MacIntyre at Colorado.

He took San Jose State from dumpster fire to top 25 team. He's in the process of doing the same at Colorado. They are incredibly young (youngest in the Pac 12...top 10 in the country) and have several last second losses in the Pac 12 while putting up 500 yards/game. They will be very solid very soon...he will be high on lists.

Played at Vandy, former assistant coach at UGA and Ole Miss.

This is the most shallow minded thinking. Let's accept mediocrity because the coach we hire may not be great. Consider the alternative, guaranteed mediocrity with the coach you have currently. I don't see the risk.

Miss state was an total train wreck when he got to Starkville. Not yet to call him a great coach but he is better than miles. Miles got the keys to 10 Caddys in the garage. huge difference.

You have no way of knowing. Its not like UT forgot how to recruit. Its year 1 and no improvement. So basically y'all are saying let's waste this freshmen class. No thanks.

We have the most wins out of any bcs program under Les. All the other programs and coaches must be complete dog shite then.

No its not. He coached at auburn before. The players he recruited were still on the team when he took over. This is not the same as us bringing in a completely new staff. Those players were running his offense still.

from OSU

Considering where they were before he got there, his record was good.

That had one winning season in 12 years before he got there, went winless in one of those. He took them to 3 straight bowl games after being to one in a 13 year time span.

Ummm...you realize that Pete Carroll left USC amid penalties that ensued to handicap the next coaching staff...and the current one.

Meyer also left UF by choice...much to the chagrin of the fanbase.

Brady Hoke, as bad as he is, is much better than Rich Rod.

This is literally the worst list that could be produced to support your argument.

You did poorly and you should feel like you did poorly. I give your performance an LSU def vs MSU off in 2014 rating.

Some of you guys need to learn what certain words mean. Mediocrity?
